A Christmas-time special featuring the Smurfs! Baby Smurf is all set to enjoy the wonder and delight of her very own first Christmas. Then, the evil Chlorhydrus puts a nasty spell on Mr. Nicholas to keep him from spreading his holiday cheer. Fortunately, the resourceful Papa Smurf isn't about to take this sort of thing sitting down. Sending out a call for hrlp, he ralies his little blue buddies to help break the mean-spirited spell. Now, they're embarking on a Smurfish campaign to ensure that the joyful message of Christmas cheer and goodwill once again rings across the land!

Papa Smurf decides to have an Olympic contest for his little Smurfs to compete in so they could have fun and also train themselves in the event that they could escape from Gargamel and Azrael whenever they appear. The village originally divides itself into two teams, with Hefty being the captain of the East Village team and Handy being the captain of the West Village team. However, when the divided line was painted right over Clumsy's house, not to mention Clumsy himself, Smurfette decides to have herself and Clumsy become a third team that will compete in the Smurfic Games.
At Christmas, Grouchy Smurf behaves badly to everyone and it takes the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future to teach him to appreciate Christmas.
As the story begins, Clumsy, Hefty, and Panicky are out in the forest at night with a cart full of smurfberries that has a broken wheel. Unable to fix the wheel, the three of them sit together around a campfire roasting smurfberries when Clumsy has the idea of telling a ghost story to pass the time. Narrator then joins the three Smurfs to tell his own kind of ghost story.
