Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale is a raven-haired enchantress with a hint of magic who moves into the town of Middleton’s haunted Grey House. As if that weren’t unusual enough, she also opens “Bell, Book and Candle,” a wondrous shop full of unique items. For some, including the captivated Police Chief Jake Russell, Cassie is a breath of fresh air and a love potion that spreads throughout the town. But before she can truly become part of Middleton, she will need to win over some of the more skeptical neighbors who don’t approve of her unique ways.
Cassie Nightingale has settled into Middleton and is busy making Grey House into a bed and breakfast. Her boyfriend, Chief of Police Jake Russell, and his kids, Brandon and Lori, are happy to have Cassie in the neighborhood, but before long, a stranger named Nick appears with papers entitling him to legal ownership of Grey House. Cassie is bewildered and wonders if she really belongs in Middleton.
Cassie Russell's birthday is drawing nearer. She tells her husband, Middleton Police Chief Jake Russell, that she wants a party with all her friends and family attending. Jake's grown children, Brandon and Lori, will both graduate soon, and Cassie believes this to be the last time everyone will be together.
Cassie Russell is given little time to plan her stepson Brandon's wedding to Tara. In addition, Martha, Middleton's new mayor, wants Cassie to head a silent auction fundraiser for the Middleton Botanical Gardens. When Audrey arrives in town looking for a job, Cassie hires her to work in her store, Bell, Book & Candle. Audrey even offers to help with the auction. However, Cassie becomes suspicious when items for the auction go missing. She must use her powers, and the help of Martha and husband/police chief Jake, to uncover the truth.
The Middleton Merriwick is still not in bloom, and the effects are being felt around town. An old friend and colleague of Abigail’s checks into Grey House claiming to want a relationship. With help from Cassie, Ben stumbles upon the old Middleton Theater and is motivated to get the place running again.
Abigail's father comes to Middleton in hopes of making amends. Cassie helps an expecting couple accept how different their lives, and family, will be once the baby comes. Grace is forced to think about her future and what path she'll follow as she realizes her affinity for math might not be a passion.
Grace finds herself under the spell of Elizabeth Merriwick after Cassie discovers an old trunk filled with her vintage clothing. Inspired by its history, and tapping into her Merriwick heritage, Grace finds a passion for storytelling. Meanwhile, Cassie helps a mother and daughter reconnect over their past at Grey House.
Cassie has to confront what "'til death do us part" means for her relationship as Sam travels to South America as additional medical aid during a tragic time. Grace digs up some of Middleton's earliest history while revising the town's website, and Abigail shares the same history with her budding romance, Phil.
Cassie and Sam’s wedding is just days away and as the town of Middleton prepares for this highly anticipated event, Grace is troubled when wedding related hiccups keep occurring. Abigail opens up to the idea of handing her mayor responsibilities over to Martha, but a handsome stranger puts a wrench in her plans. Meanwhile, Stephanie finds herself smitten.
While honeymooning, Cassie and Sam help a new friend reconcile with her brother. Grace attempts to speed up time after a break-up. Sparks fly between Abigail and Blairsville’s mayor. Cassie and Sam's plans to steal away to Chicago for the weekend go awry when he has to stay behind for work. Instead, Cassie takes her book club friends so they can all recharge. Joy questions her decision to partner with Donna again as they work on Martha's renovation. Abigail bristles at Donna's style but their may be another reason she hasn't taken to her. Abigail and Joy join Cassie at the memorial luncheon for her mentor Olympia and make a surprising discovery that could bring them closer to breaking the Merriwick-Davenport curse.
Cassie is sad that her temporary teaching assignment is winding down. Sam is forced to take unused vacation time, so he and Cassie try to find a hobby they both enjoy. Joy has a decision to make when Donna finds a new job for them in Vermont. Martha's worried about her housewarming party when final details of the renovation go awry. As Adam's mission nears, he and Stephanie try to figure out what this means for their relationship. Abigail and Donovan reunite to make one last stand against the curse and fight for their future.
Cassie, Abigail and Joy learn the origins of the pouches of soil but have more questions than answers. Cassie and Sam's double date with hospital administrator Grant and his girlfriend, Monica, doesn't go quite as planned. All of Middleton flashes back to the '50s when Martha organizes a "Grease" themed movie night in the park that ends with a surprise romantic gesture.
