The Winged Dragon of Ra is attacking Gilford the Lightning in its Egyptian God Phoenix mode. Gilford is destroyed, and because of the energy rope Joey is almost zapped of all his strength. Yugi and co. are glad he still standing while Kaiba and Yami Marik are shocked he survived. Serenity comes up to see that Joey is OK. The Winged Dragon of Ra disappears. Joey draws and summons Gearfried the Iron Knight and summons him. He is about to attack but he faints. They rush him to Kaiba Kraft 3. Yugi is worried about Joey but the Millennium Necklace starts to glow and Yugi sees that he and Joey are about to duel. Seeing this image, Yugi decides go on to his duel with Kaiba.
Le combat entre Joey et Marik dans le Royaume des ombres se termine de façon spectaculaire. Seto Kaiba cherche ensuite à vaincre Yugi lors de la demi-finale suivante.
Marik transformiert im Kampf gegen Joey seinen Geflügelten Drachen des Ra in einen Phoenix. Diese transformierte Götterkarte besitzt keine Angriffspunkte. Falls Joey den zu erwartenden Schlag nicht abwehren kann, verliert er jegliche Lebensenergie.
城之内はラーのゴッドフェニックスによって精神力が燃え尽き、LPを残したまま倒れてしまった。「城之内君まで倒れて、もう戦えない」と遊戯は思い悩み、千年タウクを使って未来を見てみるが…。
