貧しい人々に施しを行うことで生きる意味を見出す環の姿に、感化されていく啄木。京助は死んだ鑑の家に幽霊が出るという噂を平井から聞き、啄木と共に調査に出かけるが意外な幽霊の正体にたどり着くことに。
そんな折、環の夫である園部が何者かに窓の外から引きずり落されるという事件が発生する。犯人は鑑の弟なのか？ 環と二人きりになった啄木は、おもむろに原稿用紙に何かを書きはじめる……。
Takuboku continues to find himself inspired by the way Tamaki finds a reason to live in helping the needy. Kyousuke hears a rumor from Hirai that ghosts appear in the house where the deceased Kagami lived and goes there to investigate with Takuboku where they discover the surprising truth behind the ghosts. Meanwhile, Tamaki's husband Sonobe is dragged out the window by an unknown person. Is it Kagami's younger brother?
