Um Barnaby zu helfen, schlägt Kotetsu vor, den Tag, an dem seine Eltern ermordet wurden, noch einmal Schritt für Schritt durchzugehen. Doch dies endet nicht wie erhofft.
Looking to help Barnaby remember what really happened at the night of his parents' death, Kotetsu takes him to retrace his steps during that day. Barnaby deems his plan pointless as he keep remembering everything just as always, except by the face of the criminal, who keeps changing in his memories. Barnaby hears Kotetsu telling his mother on the phone he will quit being a hero and confronts him about it. Kotetsu tries to dissuade him in vain and Barnaby berates him claiming that he can't afford to have a partner who can't trust him before leaving. While confiding with his foster father Albert Maverick, the founder of Hero TV, Barnaby receives a call from his aunt Martha, who helps him remember that he wasn't with him on the day of the murder just like he claimed. Upon this revelation, Albert tells the truth to him that he is in fact the man who murdered his parents after they discovered his connection with Ouroboros and that he is a NEXT with the power to alter the memories of others, and just like he did when Barnaby was a child, he uses it on him once again.
Barnaby se bat avec ses souvenirs. Kotetsu tente donc de l'aider à reconstituer ce qui s'est passé le soir du meurtre de ses parents. Mais il a également ses problèmes familiaux à gérer. La nervosité des deux comparses ne présage rien de bon... C'est alors que Samantha appelle Barnaby pour lui montrer une photo retrouvée au fond d'un tiroir. Le peu de certitudes qu'avait encore Barnaby s'effondrent. Quel rôle a joué Maverick dans toute cette histoire ?
両親殺しの犯人の記憶がまた曖昧になり、暴走してしまうバーナビー。自信も喪失し衰弱していく。何かと気遣う虎徹は、両親が殺害された事件の日のバーナビーの行動を辿ろうと提案する。だが記憶を辿ってみても、何も思い出せず苦悩するバーナビー。家族と交わした約束との間で板挟みになってしまった虎徹は、ある決断を下す。
크림의 말을 듣고 자신이 부모님의 원수를 갚았다는 믿음이 무너져버린 바나비는 자신의 기억에 대해 자신감을 잃어버린다. 보고만 있을 수 없던 코테츠는 바나비와 함께 부모님이 살해당한 날 매버릭과 함께 갔었다던 크리스마스 트리가 있는 곳으로 향하는데... 그러나 실마리는커녕 마음만 복잡해진 바나비는 코테츠 앞에서 울다가 쓰러지고 만다.
虎徹決定把巴納比的問題解決之後才辭職。女兒阿楓對父親違反承諾感到憤怒。莎曼莎偶然找到的一張舊照片，令巴納比回憶起一部份真相。而殺死巴納比父母的真正兇手，知道無法再隱瞞下去，於是向巴納比把真相和盤托出。
