Cece und Rocky übernehmen die Leitung für den Ablauf der Fernsehaufzeichnung von Shake it up Chicago, weil Gary ganz hefig von der Grippe geplagt wird. Währenddessen drücken sich Flynn und Deuce vor diversen Aufgaben, die sie eigentlich erledigen müssten und gehen lieber zu einem Baseball-Spiel.
Rocky and CeCe finally get their dream come true of getting the Shake It Up Spotlight Dance. But their dreams become a nightmare when Gary gets the flu and can't host the show. Rocky and CeCe must find a way to host the show for Gary and still get their Spotlight Dance. They get a dance crew to perform, but end up getting sick right when their spotlight dance begins, so Tinka does the dance instead.
CeCe e Rocky hanno finalmente l'opportunità di fare il loro primo numero da soliste. Gary però si ammala e per non dover rinunciare alla loro esibizione, prendono il suo posto ma finiscono solo per far andare via gli Highlighters, gli ospiti del programma. Per rimediare al danno, li sostituiscono con un gruppo di bambini ballerini. Proprio nel momento del numero da soliste prendono anche loro l'influenza e vengono sostituite da Tinka.
Rocky a CeCe si konečně splní svůj sen o získání Shake It Up Spotlight Dance. Ale jejich sny se stanou noční můrou, když Gary dostane chřipku a nemůže hostit show. Rocky a CeCe musí najít způsob, jak hostit show pro Garyho a ještě získat jejich Spotlight Dance. Získají taneční skupinu, aby vystoupila, ale nakonec onemocní hned, jakmile začne jejich taneční show, takže Tinka musí tančit místo nich.
