山間の貧しい村で、紋次郎について歩く男児。村人に、自分が生ませた子と言われ困惑する紋次郎。養父は貸元。元は流れ者で紋次郎の来村が気に食わない様子。
In a destitute mountain village, a young boy begins to follow Monjirō, claiming him as his father. Monjirō is baffled, as the village elders say otherwise. The boy’s foster father, a loan shark and former drifter, views Monjirō's presence with hostility, stirring up a storm of hidden tensions.
