Sana, ein Mädchen mit speziellen Kräften, flieht aus dem Forschungsinstitut, das versucht, sie verzweifelt wieder einzufangen. Als sie in einem Convenience Store auf den alten Zoroku trifft, nimmt er sich ihrer widerwillig an. Doch das Forschungsinstitut hat nicht vor, so einfach aufzugeben.
In a deep, remote forest, a blond-haired girl runs amidst heavy rain and wind. Some pursue her, while others extend a hand to help her. As various motives tangle together, the girl, named Sana, makes her flight to the outside world for the first time in her life. In the end, Sana arrives at the bustling district of Kabukicho in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward. In a convenience store there, she meets Kashimura Zoroku, the quintessential "stubborn old man."
Une fillette s'échappe du laboratoire où elle était retenue prisonnière et où elle n'était rien de plus qu'un sujet d'étude. Perdue dans le monde extérieur qu'elle ne connaît pas et poursuivie par les hommes de main du laboratoire, elle rencontre Zôroku Kashimura, un vieil homme un peu bourru. Elle l'entraîne malgré lui dans ses aventures.

……そうして紗名がたどり着いたのは、大勢の人々が行き交う東京の繁華街・新宿歌舞伎町。
その一角にあるコンビニで、樫村蔵六という絵に描いたような“頑固じいさん”と、
彼女は出会う。
De un centro de investigación entre las montañas, la poderosa Reina Roja escapa causando que todo se ponga patas arriba. Sin embargo, esta Reina Roja es tan solo una niña llamada Sana que desea alejarse de todo lo que le hacen en este centro. Por suerte para ella, encontrará a Zoroku en el mundo exterior, un hombre un tanto tosco dispuesto a ayudarla.
Nel cuore della foresta, una ragazzina con i capelli biondi di nome Sana corre in mezzo al vento e alla pioggia inseguita da qualcuno. È scappata da un Istituto di Ricerca e si trova nel mondo esterno per la prima volta. Ma grazie all'aiuto di una misteriosa ragazza riesce a sfuggire ai suoi inseguitori e raggiunge Kabukicho, a Shinjuku. È qui che in un conbini incontra il vecchio e testardo Kawashimura Zoroku.
한 연구소에서 특수한 능력을 가진 사나라는 소녀가 도망친다. 그런 그녀를 잡기 위해 비밀리에 연구소 직원들이 움직이고 그들에게 쫓기던 사나는 우연히 마주친 조로쿠에게 도움을 받기로 결심한다. 영문 모를 일에 휘말린 조로쿠는 그녀의 정체도 알지 못한 채 그녀를 당분간 보호해 주기로 하는데…
