Die Auto-Freaks Edd und Mike haben für 4000 Euro einen gebrauchten Lotus Esprit ergattert. Normalerweise muss man für eine solche Ikone auf vier Rädern wesentlich mehr Geld auf den Tisch blättern. Entsprechend viel Arbeit kommt auf das Team in der Werkstatt zu, denn der Wagen ist weit entfernt davon, straßentauglich zu sein. Die Innenausstattung des Lotus ist komplett hinüber und der Motor läuft auch nicht rund. Mechaniker Edd entschließt sich daher, das 2,2 Liter-Modell komplett auszubauen, um es in aller Ruhe auf der Werkbank checken. Das Auto kam bei der letzten Überprüfung nicht durch den TÜV, weil die Kontrolleure beim Lotus ein Problem an den Federn festgestellt hatten. Diesen Defekt müssen die beiden Auto-Freaks schnellstens in den Griff bekommen, wenn sie den Sportflitzer mit Profit verkaufen wollen.
