When Sydney socialite Daisy Munroe and London lawyer Louis Oakley jointly inherit a New Zealand vineyard, they discover that they are not the "sole heirs" as they believed and that the vineyard itself is a dilapidated money pit. The disenchanted pair plan to sell the estate to influential locals, but after a surprise at a wine show, they wonder if the vineyard may not be worthless after all.
Daisy gets her hands dirty with Tippy and Gus, while Louis gets more insight from Hilary than he bargained for. Daisy and Louis hope to ease their financial woes with a visit to the bank but discover that failing to comply with the "law of the land" can have consequences. Daisy makes the ultimate sacrifice to give the run-down vineyard a chance of survival - or will it merely be a stay of execution?
Louis's reunion with his family is underwhelming, while at Oakley, Daisy informs Gus and Tippy of her plans to have the vineyard represented in the Behind the Vines showcase, to mixed response. Tippy struggles with confidence while Gus's inability to master the art of the haggle leads Daisy to a negotiation with the attractive Ben, only to discover she may be flirting with the enemy.
As preparations for the showcase continue, Tippy, Gus, and Daisy all attempt to put Louis back on track following the breakup of his marriage. Nic and Vic look to a spiritual ritual to help with their dreams of a child, but Daisy's forgetfulness may derail the whole thing. Daisy is overjoyed when Griffin visits, but when he begins an unexpected romance, regretful words are said.

Daisy goes off on a walk with Nic and meets handsome local doctor David. Vic asks Louis to help him out with a potentially serious legal problem. And Gus and Griff decide to go on their first romantic trip away together.
Facing financial pressures, Oakley Wines invites the bank manager, Mr. Talbot, for a tour. All goes so well that Talbot asks them to watch his prize turkey for a few days. But then the turkey disappears, and to make matters worse, their frost-fighting fan explodes ahead of a frost forecast for that night. Tippy goes old school by heating the vineyard with flaming pots and help from the community.
Daisy and Louis attend Marissa"s infamous book club but thanks to Nic, Daisy gets the wrong book to read. David"s daughter Sienna is there doing a recital of her poetry, and Daisy gets tongue-tied meeting her for the first time. Later, Louis discovers Hilary"s eyesight is failing, which caused her vintage to fail, too. He goes on a crusade to find her barrels of wine to blend.
Daisy and Louis are forced to spend the night together when they’re truck breaks down in the middle of nowhere, while Nic and Vic cope with the birth of their new babies.
Daisy tries to bond with her future daughter-in-law Sienna on a trip to go wedding dress-shopping, while Louis fears for his life on David’s stag-do camping trip.
