ダイヤは戻ったが、ミカは戻らない。苛立った大西は新たに届いた脅迫状にすくみ上がり、警察への協力も断る。ミカの命を救うためには警察の手を引かせるしかなかったのだ。大西は自分の書生であるロックがまさか真犯人とは思ってもいないので、身代金の宝石を彼に預け、犯人が指定した場所へ向かわせた。警察による厳重な監視の中、宝石を奪っていったのは白いオオカミに変身したトッペイだった。いまだロックの命じるままに動かなければならないトッペイは苦悩する。彼は同じバンパイヤ族である立花博士とその助手の岩根山ルリ子と久しぶりに再会し、苦境を告白する。それがまたひとつ悲劇を生み出すとは気づかずに・・・。
