Gertrudis le dice a Alejandro que Gabriela padece de esquizofrenia y que no tiene cura. Alejandro le aclara a Irene que aunque se van a casar, a quien sigue amando es a Gabriela. Tras la boda, Irene va al manicomio y mortifica cruelmente a su rival.
