Ash and friends run into Kenny who is having a special training session with Olivine Gym Leader Jasmine. Kenny is already preparing for the next Grand Festival, and this worries Dawn as she has not decided what her next step will be. Kenny challenges Ash to a battle and says that if he defeats him, then Dawn must travel with him. Who will win the battle?
Le pokégroupe retrouve Kenny au port de Rivamar. Étant amoureux d'Aurore, ce dernier semble vouloir se rapprocher d'elle puisqu'il lui propose de voyager avec lui à partir de maintenant. Aurore refuse, préférant suivre sa propre voie. À la suite d'un incident survenu lors de l'entraînement du Mustebouée de Sacha et impliquant le Pingoléon de Kenny, Sacha et Kenny disputent leur dernier match. Celui-ci se termine par une victoire de Pingoléon. Kenny prend le bateau peu après et disparaît, après qu'Aurore et lui se sont promis qu'ils s'écriraient. Aurore se demande s'ils se reverront un jour.
