Die Freunde lernen Danny kennen, der ein sehr starkes Quappo hat. Jessie, James und Mauzi sehen das. Sie beschließen erst das Quappo zu fangen, um dann mit dessen Hilfe Pikachu klauen zu können. So verkleidet sich Jessie als Wahrsagerin, und es gelingt ihr, Danny das Quappo abzunehmen. Unsere Freunde bekommen das mit und helfen Danny, Quappo wiederzubekommen. Nach einer kurzen Verfolgungsjagd gelingt es ihnen auch, Team Rocket zu stellen. Es kommt zu einem Kampf, in dessen Verlauf sich Mistys Quaputzi in Quaxo verwandelt und bei dem Team Rocket wieder den Kürzeren zieht. Danny hat sein Quappo zurück, und die Freunde setzen ihre Reise fort.
On meeting up with a proud Pokémon trainer who dares all comers to face his Poliwrath, Misty and Ash quickly rise to the challenge. Misty, in particular, encourages her Poliwhirl to watch closely as it may someday evolve into a Poliwrath. As is often the case, the battle isn't long over before this challenger and Ash and Misty have become fast friends. Meanwhile, Team Rocket, having furtively observed this battle and been convinced that the Poliwrath is a match even for Pikachu, decide to first capture it and then use it to capture Pikachu. Unfortunately, this logic does not hold as they find capturing a Pokemon stronger than Pikachu even more difficult than simply capturing Pikachu. A surprise is in store for Misty, as her Poliwhirl evolves not into a Poliwrath, but into another Pokemon altogether.
Arrivant en ville, Sacha et ses amis rencontrent un garçon qui fait des matches avec son Tartard. Ondine le défie avec son Tetarte, mais perd. Alors que Tartard se bat contre Macronium, Pierre intervient et annonce que Tartard ferait mieux de se reposer puisqu'il venait de faire huit matches. Usant de ruse, la Team Rocket parvint à s'emparer de la Pokéball de Tartard et utilise une de leurs inventions pour le contrôler. Grâce au Coraillon d'Ondine, Tartard est libéré, et c'est maintenant Jessie qui se retrouve contrôlée par Miaouss et, après, James (qui veut qu'elle fasse une attaque lance-flamme et ultra laser). Ondine fait appel à Tetarte, qui évolue en Tarpaud. Grâce aux attaques combinées de nos amis, la Team Rocket est vaincue.
Ash y Misty tienen una batalla amistosa contra un entrenador llamado Deleini y su Poliwrath, mientras tanto, el Equipo Rocket planea robarse a Poliwrath para luego robar a Pikachu.
