Kyros’ Versuch, De Flamingo zu töten, erweist sich als gescheitert. Durch eine List konnte der Samurai seinen Widersacher geschickt blenden. So stehen plötzlich zwei De Flamingos im Thronsaal und beide greifen Ruffy mit voller Kraft an. Doflamingo orders Pica to push Luffy and the others off of the palace. Doflamingo then unleashes his Birdcage, sealing the entire island in strings. The strings then latch onto people and take control of them, forcing them to attack each other. Pica then rearranges the whole island, levitating areas such as the palace and the Flower Field. Doflamingo announces a game to kill him to break the cage, unless they kill all of the people he is about to name.
Doflamingo ordonne à Pica de pousser Luffy et les autres hors du palais. Doflamingo utilise alors la Birdcage, qui emprisonne l'île dans des ressorts. Les fils touchent les personnes et les contrôles, les faisant s'attaquer les uns les autres. Doflamingo annonce un jeux pour tuer qui consiste en le tuer pour sortir de la cage, à moins qu'ils puissent tuer tout le monde qu'il va nommer.

Doflamingo reaparece junto a Pica y pone en aprietos a Kyros y Luffy, que son expulsados de palacio junto a Violet, Riku y Law. Tras esto, utiliza a su clon de hilos para crear una afilada "jaula" de hilos alrededor de Dressrosa con el objetivo de que nadie salga de la isla, al mismo tiempo que quiere iniciar un juego de supervivencia.
