賭場で、壺振りの姉と旅人の弟が親の借金を返すためにイカサマで儲けていた。姉を裏切り、金を持ち逃げした弟から五十両を奪い、姉に届ける紋次郎。この女は紋次郎の死に別れた実の姉に瓜二つだった。
先程の賭場の代貸が実姉の稼ぎ先で、さらに実姉を見殺しにしていたことを知る紋次郎。五十両を探して紋次郎と鉢合わせした代貸に紋次郎の刃が光る。
In a gambling den, a traveling brother and his dice-dealing sister conspire to repay their parents' debts through trickery. Monjirō steals fifty ryō from the brother, who betrayed his sister and fled with the money, and returns it to her. The sister bears an uncanny resemblance to Monjirō’s deceased sibling. Learning that the gambling den’s overseer was once involved in his real sister’s tragic demise, Monjirō confronts him, the blade of his sword gleaming with vengeance.
