U.C. 0097, one year after the opening of "Laplace`s Box." Despite the revelation of the Universal Century Charter that acknowledges the existence and rights of Newtypes, the framework of the world has not been greatly altered.
The conflict later dubbed the "Laplace Incident" is thought to have ended with the downfall of the Neo Zeon remnants known as the Sleeves. In its final battle, two full psycho-frame mobile suits displayed power beyond human understanding. The white unicorn and the black lion were sealed away to remove this danger from people`s consciousness, and they should now be completely forgotten.
However, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03, which disappeared two years earlier, is now about to show itself in the Earth Sphere once more. A golden phoenix... named Phenex.

Malgré la révélation de la charte originale du Siècle Universel, qui reconnaît l’existence des NewTypes et leurs droits, le monde n’a pas vraiment changé.
Après la destruction des forces de Neo Zeon, connues sous le nom des Manchettes, l'Incident LaPlace semble avoir pris fin. Durant la bataille finale, les Mobile Suits équipés de Full Psycho Frame ont démontré des capacités phénoménales. La menace de la Licorne Blanche et du Lion d’Ébène ont, quant à elles, été écartées de la conscience collective et oubliées par l’Histoire.
Cependant, des apparitions du RX-0 Unicorn 03, supposé perdu deux ans auparavant, sont signalées. Son nom est Phenex, l’oiseau immortel.

뉴타입의 존재와 그 권리에 언급된 ‘우주세기 헌장’의 존재가 밝혀졌어도 세상의 틀은 크게 변화되지 않았다. 후에 ‘라플라스 사변’이라고 불리는 전란은 네오 지온의 잔당군 ‘소데츠키’가 와해되며 종결된 것으로 보였다. 그 최후의 전투에서 2기의 풀 사이코 프레임 사양의 모빌 수트가 인지를 초월한 힘을 보였다. 하얀 유니콘과 검은 사자. 2기의 위협은 봉인됨으로써 사람들의 의식에서 멀어져 갔고 기억에서 사라질 예정이었다. 하지만 2년 전에 행방불명 된 RX-0 유니콘 건담 3호기가 지구권에 다시 모습을 드러내기 시작했다.
