Kira discovers a malfunctioning lifeboat and brings it aboard the Archangel. Everyone is surprised to find Flay Allster as one of the rescued civilians. The Archangel decides to head for the Eurasian Federation military satellite Artemis to seek help. Rau Le Creuset follows and plans an attack on the Archangel. Kira decides to continue piloting the Strike and his friends volunteer to become members of the Archangel crew as his support.
Da Heliopolis zerstört ist, macht sich die Archangel auf den Weg zur einer Eurasischen Festung, der Artemis. Die Mannschaft erhofft sich dort Zuflucht zu finden. Doch die ZAFTs schneiden ihnen den Weg ab und ein neues Gefecht beginnt.
Encore sous le choc de la destruction de sa colonie, Kira parvient néanmoins à récupérer une barge de secours renfermant des rescapés, dont son amie Flay. De son côté, le capitaine Ramius doit décider de la prochaine manœuvre.
