In a post-apocalyptic future, Marvel's Wastelanders: Old Man Star-Lord finds Peter Quill (Timothy Busfield) and Rocket (Chris Elliott) a little paunchier, a little slower, and a lot saltier than they were during the glory days of the Guardians of the Galaxy. They quickly discover the Earth isn't what it used to be either, when they crash land 30 years after all the world's super villains seized control.
Many years after being known as Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill and Rocket return to a dying Earth on a mercenary mission to retrieve a valuable object, and pick up an extra passenger on the way.
After a disastrous arrival in what used to be the United States, Star-Lord, Rocket and Cora get a ride from a local named Red.
While taking refuge at Red Crotter's farm, Star-Lord, Rocket and Cora learn more about what happened on Earth, and make a plan for how to get the Black Vortex.
After saying goodbye to Red, Star-Lord, Rocket and Cora set off for Doomwood, in search of someone who might be able to lead them to the Black Vortex. Meanwhile, the blood thirsty Kraven targets his next victim.
After Star-Lord's unsuccessful attempt to save Sebastian Warn, Cora makes arrangements for Star-Lord and Rocket to go into hiding at the Heaven and Hellfire, the most popular club in Doomwood. However, it's unclear if the club's proprietor, the eternally youthful telepath Emma Frost, is a friend or foe.
Star-Lord and Rocket split up to find the quickest way to the Black Vortex - and out of their guillotine collars. Emma Frost passes a test of loyalty, and gives Cora a test of her own.
While Rocket and Joanna Forge try to find something strong enough to cut through adamantium collars, Emma, Cora and Star-Lord make a plan to infiltrate Doom's compound and head down into the mines.
With the help of Cora and Joanna Forge, Star-Lord and Rocket hack their way into Doom's compound, where they find a clue that leads them to the most unlikely of places.
Now in Kraven's custody, Star-Lord and Rocket become the ultimate prey, and they get some help from an old friend.
In their final showdown with Kraven, Star-Lord and Rocket fight to reach the Black Vortex before Kraven does. As the Collector arrives on Earth to claim her prize, Cora finds a new subject to follow.
