Gary and Cheryl's 25th wedding anniversary is looming and Gary decides on a suitable present to mark the occasion. A (very) large piece of jewelry is in the offing, but Patrick has another suggestion. Perhaps a handsome young stud with no strings attached? Meanwhile, Terry's latest girlfriend has asked for a present of her own: a new pair of breasts. In a rare display of moral fiber, Terry decides it would be wrong to mess with what is already naturally so perfect. But she can be very persuasive, particularly in the bedroom.
James falls for a beautiful interior designer and promptly hires her to work on his apartment, providing him with the perfect opportunity to endear himself to her. However, he soon breaks the most important unwritten rule by sleeping with a woman over 30, a move that provokes a vindictive backlash when the relationship peters out. Terry is shocked by the news that Christine and Armando are engaged as his family crumbles around him.
Terry and the boys find themselves on a night out far removed from their usual glamorous evenings when old school friend Dirty Dixon comes to town. Champagne quaffing is exchanged for bare-knuckle boxing as their pal shows them a side of London they've never experienced before, while attempting to use his knowledge of their pasts to turn them against each other.
James accepts an offer to stay with Terry until his apartment is finished, a move that proves problematic when Terry's quiet night in with Pippa is interrupted by his guest. Gary decides to splash out on improving his wood-decking company's logo, but isn't entirely convinced by the ideas proposed by a cutting-edge graphic design firm.
Terry receives a call from Christine, who explains the family dog is on its last legs and should be put down, but when he discovers the pooch has been causing tension between his ex and her boyfriend, he concocts a devious plan. Terry steps in to fund his son's short film when he discovers his estranged wife's boyfriend has agreed to help, but production costs soon spiral out of control prompting the need for additional backing. Gary contemplates the idea of getting a mistress because everybody seems to have one. Patrick builds a boat by hand while Terry and James fret about having no dreams of their own.
Terry is devastated when he hears ex-wife Christine's plan to sell the house and move to a villa in Spain with Armando : until James suggests Terry buys the property and uses it for family gatherings. Elsewhere, Gary experiences communication problems with son Wayne, who surprises his dad with an important announcement. Last in series.
