Goro returns to Florida where he is scheduled to pitch for the Indiana Hornets. Almost all the fans and the owner expect him to become their new ace, but Sanders and Keane also try to humble him by pointing out how the Majors are only the beginning of the top competition and that most of the Majors stars didn't participate in the World Baseball Cup.
ワールドベースボールカップの興奮も冷めやらぬ中、代表選手たちはそれぞれメジャーの開幕に向けて動き出した。メジャー球団のひとつ、インディアナ・ホーネッツでも、キャンプが終盤を迎えていた。野球への情熱を取り戻し、そのホーネッツのキャンプに合流した吾郎は、オーナーのランスから大歓迎を受け、また、日本のマスコミの取材攻勢にさらされる。だが、自分はワールドカップの敗戦投手なのだと、歓迎や慰めのことばにいらつく吾郎。そんな吾郎に、サンダースやキーンが辛口のハッパをかける。そして吾郎は、ホーネッツのエキシビション（オープン戦）に登板する。
Goro retourne en Floride où il est prévu qu'il lance pour les Hornets d'Indiana. Presque tous les fans et le propriétaire attendent de lui qu'il devienne leur nouvel as, mais Sanders et Keane essayent de lui faire comprendre que l'entrée en Major League n'est que le début de la compétition et que la plupart des stars de la ligue n'ont pas participé à la coupe du monde de baseball.
월드베이스볼의 아쉬운 결승을 끝내고 호넷츠에 복귀한 고로는 시범경기에서 인상적인 피칭을 보여준다.
하지만 자신만만한 새내기를 바라보는 팀원들의 시선은 세간만큼 곱지 않았는데…
이를 느낀 고로 본인도 팀원들에게 본때를 보여주기 위해 더욱 의욕을 불태운다.
