Electrical engineering assistant Isao Hayashi (Takuya Kimura), breaks into an amusement park late at night and plants a time bomb on the Ferris Wheel. On his way home, security guard Shigeru Manabe (Kanai Dai) beats Hayashi to death. While Furuhata investigates the murder, Imaizumi becomes trapped in the Ferris Wheel with the timer on the bomb slowly ticking down to detonation.
天神大学電気工学部助手・林功夫（木村拓哉）は深夜、大学のすぐ側の遊園地に侵入し、観覧車に時限爆弾を仕掛けた。しかし帰り際に警備員・真鍋茂（金井大）に見咎められ撲殺する。翌日、真鍋殺しの捜査に古畑たちがやってくるが、今泉が爆弾の仕掛けられた観覧車の中に閉じ込められてしまい…。
