La serie è ambientata negli anni '70 del 1800, nel pieno dell'epopea del Far West, quando Kid Lucky ha solo una cosa in testa: crescere per diventare il più grande cowboy di tutti i tempi. Ogni nuova avventura porterà il protagonista sempre più vicino al suo sogno: insieme agli amici (tutti ragazzi tra i 9 e gli 11 anni), Kid cercherà di domare cavalli selvaggi, sfidare Billy Bad con la sua fionda, da abile tiratore quale è. Ma la vita non è tutta giochi e divertimento: Kid Lucky ed i suoi amici devono infatti anche rendere conto ai propri genitori e rispettarne le direttive, come fanno tutti i ragazzi. Tra faccende domestiche, lavaggio dei denti e scuola non è facile essere un vero cowboy!
Kid Lucky n’attend qu’une chose : être grand pour devenir le plus grand Cowboy de l’Ouest. Entouré de sa bande d’amis, il tente chaque jour une nouvelle aventure pour se rapprocher de son but : attraper un cheval pour le monter, partir sur les traces du grizzli, dormir à la belle étoile, défier Billy Bad au lance pierre…Il faut dire que Kid est particulièrement doué pour le tir et assez chanceux en général. Mais on ne fait pas ce que l’on veut quand on est un enfant, même dans le Far West et Kid Lucky et ses amis sont souvent rattrapés par les obligations de la vie quotidienne et par quelques adultes qui veillent sur eux !

He and his friends always have an adventure whether it be riding Kid's horse Jolly Jumper or helping the Sheriff, where there's an injustice Kid will be there to save the day - and have a laugh along the way!

Umgeben von seiner Gruppe von Freunden unternimmt er jeden Tag ein neues Abenteuer, um seinem Ziel näher zu kommen: ein Pferd fangen, um es zu reiten, in die Fußstapfen des Grizzlybären treten, unter den Sternen schlafen, Billy Bad mit einem Speerstein herausfordern ... Es muss gesagt werden, dass Kid besonders gut im Schießen ist und im Allgemeinen ziemlich viel Glück hat. Aber man macht nicht, was man will, wenn man ein Kind ist, auch nicht im Wilden Westen und Kid Lucky und seine Freunde werden oft von den Verpflichtungen des Alltags und von ein paar Erwachsenen, die über sie wachen, eingeholt!

A barátaival azonban mindig ügyesen kitalálja, hogyan teljesítse a kötelességét, és hogyan kerüljön ki a nehéz helyzetekből.
