Following revelations of the past, Guy again asserts that Masaru is Sadayoshi. Masaru denies it and runs off and encounters Éléonore Shirogane, but he is attacked by Guy and falls down a cliff unconscious. Masaru then recalls the memories of Shōji, from the saving of Éléonore and her life in the Quiberon orphanage under the care and training of Lucille. Then the betrayal of Sadayoshi by using his son Masaru as a vehicle for his memories so that he could essentially become immortal. However, Shōji was already prepared and destroyed the memory data back at Karuizawa causing Sadayoshi to try to kill him. Shōji survived but it was announced that he had died to protect him from Sadayoshi. Meanwhile, Sadayoshi sent Éléonore to join a circus to keep her away from Masaru.
Ayant repris conscience, Masaru échappe à ses ravisseurs et décide de prouver qu'il n'est pas Sadayoshi. Poursuivi par Guy et le clan Kuroga, il se heurte par hasard à Shirogané, venu le chercher à Kuroga. Mais avant qu’ils n'aient pu s’échapper, une autre vision submerge l’esprit de Masaru : dans celle-ci, les espoirs d’Angelina sont brisés car Éléonore a fini par boire l’Aqua Vitae.
Dopo aver ripreso conoscenza, Masaru riesce a sfuggire ai suoi rapitori e decide di dimostrare di non essere Sadayoshi. Inseguito da Guy e dal clan Kuroga, incontra inaspettatamente Shirogane, arrivata a Kuroga a cercarlo. Ma prima che i due riescano ad allontanarsi, un'altra visione si impossessa della mente di Masaru: Éléonore ha bevuto l'Aqua Vitae e le speranze di Angelina sono state infrante.
記憶の旅から戻った勝は、自身が貞義ではないことを証明するため、黒賀の衆を掻い潜り屋敷から外へ走り出す。
その際、勝を探して黒賀村を訪れたしろがねと偶然再会する。
しかし、ギイたち追手から逃れる途中、またもや正二の記憶が頭を駆け巡る。
記憶の中でエレオノールは、アンジェリーナの願いも虚しく生命の水を飲んでしまっていた。
Masaru retoma a consciência e, para provar que não é Sadayoshi, escapa da mansão onde estava aprisionado. Nesse momento, ele se encontra por acaso com Shirogane, que fora até Kuroga para procurá-lo. Os dois são perseguidos por Guy e o clã Kuroga. No entanto, em meio à fuga, Masaru tem outra visão, na qual Éléonore acaba bebendo a Aqua Vitae por acidente contra a vontade de Angelina.
