The God Thing

Seit Amys gute Freundin Greta eine Krebs-Erkrankung überlebte, hat sie die Religion für sich entdeckt. Amy kann gar nichts damit anfangen und distanziert sich deshalb von Greta. Als sie sich Hilfe suchend an Bruce wendet, erfährt sie, dass auch er ein gläubiger Mensch ist... Im Gerichtssaal bekommt es Amy mit zwei Teenagern zu tun, bei denen eine so genannte "Vergewaltigungsdroge" gefunden wurde, ein Beruhigungsmittel, das jedes Opfer nicht nur ruhig stellt, sondern auch die Erinnerung löscht. Maxine übernimmt vorübergehend den Job von Susie als Leiterin ihrer Abteilung. Sofort muss sie über einen Fall von Amok laufenden Kindern entscheiden. Privat versteht sie sich immer besser mit ihrer Zufallsbekanntschaft Jared Duff.

Amy decides the fate of two teenagers arrested for possession of a date rape drug; Greta returns to work with a newfound appreciation of her spirituality, causing Amy to question her own; while working on the case of a neglectful mother, Maxine discovers that management isn't all that it's cracked up to be, especially when it gets in the way of her time with Jared; Donna ropes Amy into having coffee with Leisha, who in turn ropes Amy into going shopping for bathing suits; Vincent breaks up with Lisa after she perjures herself on the stand; after Donna delivers some very sad news, Amy seeks some answers, and some consolation, at Bruce's church.
