New kid Andrew arrives at Hartley. Although he has Muscular Dystrophy and is in a wheelchair, he is determined to be treated like a normal teenager. Albers asks Melanie to buddy Andrew — to show him around and make him feel welcome, but Andrew resents the whole idea.
Jeff arrives to look after Ryan and Anita and goes out of his way to be the dutiful father. Anita doesn't appreciate it when he starts laying down the law to her, especially when Ryan appears to be able to do whatever he wants.
Drazic and Mai are struggling with the higher rent at their new warehouse and can't afford to buy much food — they almost resort to eating leftovers at the Shark Pool. Things get really desperate so Mai decides to do a "stock take", in which she and Draz are a little over-zealous with their health and safety standards, taking a huge haul of food home.
Jeff arrive une semaine plus tôt pour veiller sur Ryan et Anita. Il veut rattraper le temps perdu et être un bon père. Mais il se met à édicter des lois qu’Anita trouve inutiles alors qu’il laisse tranquille Ryan. De plus, elle n’apprécie pas que Jeff passe tout à Ryan et rien à elle, sous prétexte qu’elle est une fille...
Entre-temps, un nouvel étudiant en fauteuil, Andrew arrive.
Au Shark Pool, Mai et Drazic volent de la nourriture parce qu’ils n’ont plus d’argent pour manger. Au début, ils récupèrent de la nourriture périmée, mais ils finissent par voler dans les stocks. Mr Black découvre le vol et renvoi Drazic. Mais Mai lui explique la situation et il décide de reprendre Drazic et les aident pour qu’ils puissent manger à leur faim.
Nieuwe student Andrew arriveert in Hartley. Hoewel hij spierdystrofie heeft en in een rolstoel zit, is hij vastbesloten om als een normale tiener te worden behandeld. Albers vraagt Melanie om Andrew rond te leiden en hem zich welkom te laten voelen, maar Andrew stoort zich aan het idee. Jeff arriveert om voor Ryan en Anita te zorgen en doet zijn uiterste best om de plichtmatige vader te zijn. Anita stelt het niet op prijs wanneer hij haar de wet begint voor te schrijven, vooral wanneer Ryan wel lijkt te kunnen doen wat hij wil. Drazic en Mai worstelen met de hogere huur in hun nieuwe pakhuis en kunnen het zich niet veroorloven om veel voedsel te kopen - ze nemen bijna hun toevlucht tot het eten van restjes in de Shark Pool. Het wordt echt wanhopig, dus besluit Mai een "inventarisatie" te doen, waarin Draz en zij een beetje overijverig zijn met hun gezondheids- en veiligheidsnormen en een enorme hoeveelheid voedsel mee naar huis nemen.
