Hot Rod Drag Week is a 5 day racing road trip, which mercilessly tortures the fastest street cars on the planet. Gearheads travel from all over the globe to compete in the event, which stipulates that each car must carry its own tools, luggage, spare parts-whatever it takes to make a pass down each dragstrip and then road trip to the next track. The route is usually right around 1,000 miles but in 2019 the trip was slightly shorter but no less grueling. Tony Angelo and I made the trip and won the A/Gas class in Blasphemi, my 1955 Chevy Bel Air. David Newbern and Brandon Wise were slightly less successful in Newbern's 1971 Chevy Nova. In this video we discovered why the 540ci BBC broke in the Nova and what we are gonna do now that Drag Week 2020 has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
