Conan, Ran, and Sonoko go to a tangerine farm located in a mountainous region within the prefecture in order to pick fruits. Farm manager Terauchi Tetsuji scolds Sokono for carelessly picking and damaging his tangerines. Conan and his friends are treated to a variety of tangerine-based dishes at the Terauchi family home. 귤 농원에 귤 수확 체험을 하러 간 코난과 란, 그리고 소노코. 그런데 즐겁게 귤을 따고 있는 아이들에게 귤 농원의 주인인 테츠지가 버럭 소리를 지른다.
그런 식으로 따면 귤이 다 상한다며 성질을 부리는 것이었다. 그러자 아들인 나오야는 아버지가 맨날 그런 식이니까 귤 수확 체험을 하러 오는 손님들이 뚝 끊겨 버린 거라며 아버지를 나무란다. 귤에 대한 사랑이 너무 깊고 원래 무뚝뚝한 성격이라 그런 것이니 이해를 하라며 테츠지의 아내인 나오코가 아이들을 달랜다. 그리고 무사히 귤 수확을 끝내고 산 아래 테츠지의 집으로 돌아가서 나오코가 만들어 준 다양한 귤 요리를 맛있게 즐긴다. 그런데 나오코가 산 위에서 보는 석양이 정말 아름답다며 구경하러 가라고 해서 다시 산에 오른 아이들. 나오코의 말대로 너무도 아름다운 석양의 모습에 시간 가는 줄도 모르고 넋을 잃고 바라보다가 어느덧 해가 저문다. 그런데 귤 수확용 모노레일을 타고 아이들을 데리러 오던 테츠지가 모노레일에서 떨어져서 절벽 아래로 추락하는 사고가 발생하는데...
