BLT invites Michelle to the graduation dance and she accepts. She introduces him to her parents, who then forbid her to go out with him. They tell her she is too young to date, but she wonders if they don't want her to date him because he is black. When she questions her mother about this, her mother says they are just looking out for her. Michelle decides to go to the dance with BLT anyway.

Als sie ihre Mutter danach fragt, sagt ihre Mutter, dass sie nur ihr Bestes wollen. Michelle beschließt trotzdem, mit BLT zum Ball zu gehen.
BLT invite Michelle à la soirée de remise des diplômes et elle accepte. Elle le présente à ses parents, qui lui interdisent alors de sortir avec lui. Ils lui disent qu'elle est trop jeune pour sortir avec lui, mais elle se demande s'ils ne veulent pas qu'elle sorte avec lui parce qu'il est noir.
