When John Ross and Pamela make a shocking discovery about an enemy’s whereabouts the night J.R. was killed, Bobby is compelled to reveal more of J.R.’s master plan to them and ask for their help in a surprising way. Meanwhile, Christopher heads out to search for his mother, but as an unexpected secret comes to light, a rift drives Christopher and Elena apart. At the same time, Sue Ellen makes an impassioned plea to convince Ken Richards (Lee Majors) to do the right thing, even though it may have dire consequences for him.

Christopher si reca in Svizzera accompagnato da Elena per scoprire se e' effettivamente sua madre la donna della foto. Ma in realta' all'indirizzo che la banca gli ha segnalato, trova solo un certo dottor Gordon che sostiene di essere il nuovo marito della madre. In albergo ha una discussione con Elena quando viene a sapere che lei, a sua insaputa, ha aiutato il fratello a nascondersi. Drew, intanto, con uno stratagemma, fa arrestare Roy. Sue Ellen rintraccia Ken e, con in mano le vere conclusioni della Commissione d'inchiesta, ricatta il Governatore per tirarlo dalla sua parte. John Ross e' in possesso della prova che Cliff era a Nuevo Laredo quando JR e' stato ucciso. Bobby allora, messo da parte ogni scrupolo morale, costruisce un falso indizio che possa far incriminare Cliff per l' omicidio. Gelosamente custodito in una cassetta di sicurezza intestata a Cliff, Pamela e John Ross trovano il certificato di morte della madre di Christopher.
