With his arms around her, Feng Teng teaches Shan Shan how to fish, telling her that everyone needs to know she’s in charge of this pond. Witnessing this, Lishu is unhappy, and Feng Yue becomes aware of Lishu's unfriendliness towards Shan Shan. Lishu also feels that Shan Shan is being hypocritical, having previously told her that she didn’t like Feng Teng. Feng Yue uses the opportunity to ask Lishu if she likes her brother. Lishu responds that she never stopped liking him, but that her mother disapproved of Lishu and Feng Teng being together because she was worried that others would think Lishu was just trying to marry into riches.
