Mato Kuroi ha appena iniziato la scuola media e il primo giorno qualcuno attira la sua attenzione. La sua compagna Yomi Takanashi. Le due si incontrano. L'innocente e ingenua Mate e la matura Yomi. Apparentemente sono agli antipodi ma il tempo che trascorrono insieme rende più forte una crescente amicizia. Ma al secondo anno finiscono in classi diverse e iniziano a crescere separate l'una dall'altra. Ma in un altro mondo, nello stesso momento, una giovane ragazza chiamata Black Rock Shooter, che ha una fiamma blu in un occhio, ne affronta un'altra di nome Dead Master, la quale porta con sé una falce nera. E una battaglia mortale inizia.
Mato Kuroi se hace amigo de una chica llamada Yomi Takanashi quien recientemente se trasladó a la ciudad. Mato rápidamente se une al club de baloncesto, que incita a Yomi a unirse al club de voleibol ya que ambos clubes practican al mismo tiempo en el gimnasio.
Cette histoire raconte l'aventure de Mato Kuroi, une étudiante qui entre dans sa première année de collège. Lors de son premier jour, elle rencontre une fille du nom de Yomi Takanashi. Très vite, et malgré leurs personnalités presque totalement opposées, les deux jeunes filles deviennent d'inséparables amies et passent leur paisible vie de collégienne ensemble. Mais au même moment, dans un monde parallèle au leur, une jeune fille, aux yeux teintés d'un feu bleu, se prépare à livrer bataille contre une autre jeune fille répondant au nom de Dead Master. Quel est le lien entre ces deux mondes ?
