June 19, 1964: Jim Bunning's on the mound for the Phils and the Pryors have just begun their annual Wildwood vacation. Roxanne isn't with them because she's still mad at a still-distressed Meg. But her rich new friend Carol has invited her to her beach club at ""the Crest."" And Meg returns the favor, getting Carol and her friends into a Bandstand beach ""hop"" featuring the Kinks (Third Eye Blind does the impersonation). Meanwhile, Helen finally tells Jack about Professor Witt's advance. Back in town, JJ's at home---with Beth while Henry's minding the North Philly store. The neighborhood is steaming and the city pool hasn't opened yet.
Meg cherche un moyen de s'excuser auprès de Roxanne, avant la grande émission de Bandstand qui aura lieu sur la plage, tout en continuant sa relation amicale avec Carole. De son côté, Helen culpabilise à cause du baiser échangé avec le professeur Witt, et finit par l'avouer à Jack. Pendant ce temps, de retour en ville, JJ fête son dernier été de lycéen en se rapprochant de Beth et en projetant de franchir le dernier pas dans leur relation, alors que les tentatives d'Henry de tirer le meilleur parti d'une belle journée d'été, le conduisent en prison.
La famiglia Pryor si reca a Wilwood per trascorrere le vacanze estive. Roxanne ha però deciso di non andare con loro perché è ancora in lite con Meg. Helen racconta al marito la verità su quanto è accaduto col professor Witt. JJ ha la sua prima volta insieme a Beth. Henry viene arrestato dalla Polizia per aver aperto un idrante.
