恵那（長澤まさみ）の画策により、被害者遺族ら事件関係者にインタビューした映像が『フライデーボンボン』で放送された。拓朗（眞栄田郷敦）すら知らなかった恵那の“奇襲”に、村井（岡部たかし）たちスタッフはぼうぜん。オンエア後、放送不適切と判断されたVTRを独断で流した恵那は、名越（近藤公園）から厳しい叱責を受ける。一方で、特集への反響は想像以上に大きなものとなっていく…。 恵那たちが次に着目したのは、犯人逮捕の決め手にもなった重大な目撃証言。目撃者の西澤正は恵那らが申し込んだ取材にはかたくなに応じようとせず、拓朗は西澤の言葉にどこかうさんくささを感じる。 そんな矢先、恵那は弁護士の木村（六角精児）から、松本死刑囚（片岡正二郎）に関する衝撃の事実を聞かされる。
독단적으로 핫토비산 사건 특집을 방송에 내보낸 에나. 프로듀서들은 물론이고 타쿠로에게까지 이 일을 비밀로 했다며 원성을 산다. 하지만 시청률이 오르고 호평이 쏟아지자, 국장은 다음 편을 준비하라고 지시한다. 한편, 사사오카 기자는 최근 발생한 중학생 살해사건의 범행 수법과 예전 핫토비산 사건의 수법이 동일하다는 정보를 알려준다. 에나와 타쿠로는 다음 편을 준비하며 당시 목격자에게 초점을 맞춘다.
Ena (Nagasawa Masami) has planned to broadcast footage of interviews with the victims' families and other people involved in the case on Friday Bonbon. Ena's "surprise attack", which even Takuro (Maeda Go Atsushi) was unaware of, stunned Murai (Okabe Takashi) and the other staff. After the programme goes on air, Ena is severely reprimanded by Nagoshi (Kondo Koen) for arbitrarily airing a VTR that was deemed inappropriate for broadcast.
