On her way home from her first shrine visit of the year, Mana spots a youkai dragging a dead body. Daddy Eyeball says it might have been a youkai called Kasha. It prefers to eat dead bodies, so it used to run rampant, appearing near crematoriums to steal human corpses... But the youkai Mana saw had been weak, and when it noticed Mana, it had dropped the corpse and run away. Maybe Kasha had grown weaker with age... Ratman overhears this conversation with Daddy Eyeball and hatches a sinister plot...

初詣の帰り道、まなは死体を引きずり運んでいる妖怪の姿を目撃してしまう。目玉おやじによると、それは火車という妖怪ではないかと言う。火車は死体を好んで食らう妖怪で、昔は、火葬場に現われては人間の死体を盗み暴れまわっていたという…。しかし、まなが目の当たりにした妖怪は弱々しく、まなに気づくと死体を放り出して逃げていった。火車も年を取り体が弱っているのだろうか…。そんな目玉おやじの話を盗み聞きしたねずみ男は何か悪巧みを思いついたようで…。
