A bartender was also shot and murdered in a botched robbery in the 80’s. Samuel S. Haldeman (1812-1880) was a distinguished scientist, author and leading authority on natural history and the ethnic development of languages and phonics. Haldeman was born in this 1782 federal-style home, overlooking the Susquehanna River. Dozens of staff members, maintenance crews and guests have all reported similar alleged sightings. Translucent figures coming down the stairs or in upstairs rooms. Disembodied voices talking, faces at windows and more. The Ghost Finders investigate.
Fort Mifflin, originally called Fort Island Battery and also known as Mud Island Fort was commissioned in 1771 and sits on Mud Island (aka Deep Water Island) on the Delaware River below Philadelphia International Airport. During the American Revolutionary War, the British Royal Navy bombarded and captured the fort as part of their conquest of Philadelphia in autumn 1777. In 1795 the fort was renamed for Thomas Mifflin, a Continental Army officer and the first post-independence Governor of Pennsylvania.

The Oliver Estate in Middleboro, MA was built in 1769 on the ashes of the Wampanoag native tribe, who lived peacefully in these regions for thousands of years. Sadly, most of them died from disease brought across the Atlantic when the pilgrims moved into the area. Visitors included dignitaries like Benjamin Franklin, John Quincy Adams and Paul Revere and many enslaved people brought here by Nathanial Russel to be collected by their new ‘owners’.

The place of captivity of Pocahontas (real name Matoaka) and then nearby Powhatan Tribe.
