The Oliver Estate in Middleboro, MA was built in 1769 on the ashes of the Wampanoag native tribe, who lived peacefully in these regions for thousands of years. Sadly, most of them died from disease brought across the Atlantic when the pilgrims moved into the area. Visitors included dignitaries like Benjamin Franklin, John Quincy Adams and Paul Revere and many enslaved people brought here by Nathanial Russel to be collected by their new ‘owners’.
