Winter's end means the return of the great herds. Cave-dwellers and Wolves fight over the hunt. War between these two communities seems imminent. Rahan manages to convince Tetya and Bakur to negotiate a truce during the hunting season. He sets up a meeting in neutral territory between the two clan. Mogo, chief of the Wolves, agrees. But Drak and Sanga set a trap for the clans' emissaries. Rahan, Bakur and Tetya only just escape disaster. Tetya and Bakur force Rahan to take sides, but "Hair of Fire" has already chosen Peace.
