Rahan befriends Enok, son of Mogo, Chief of the Wolf Clan, after defending him against several Cave-Dweller warriors. He doesn't realise that his new friend stole the clan's precious idol. Enok is full of admiration for Rahan's courage, and invites him back to the Wolves village. Drak, their shaman, sees danger in Rahan… and convinces Mogo to kill him. And so the chief poisons the young lad. Enok is furious that his father killed his new friend… unaware that Rahan has been saved in extremis by Ursus, who alerted Tetya. Bakur, Chief of the Cave-Dwellers, is preparing an attack on the Wolves Village. Rahan intervenes… he promises to recuperate the clan's idol, which he does by dressing up as a ghost thus terrorising the Wolves. Sanga realises the truth too late… and is once again overcome in combat by Rahan
