„Ich denke mal, dass die die Reise-Reportage mit mir drehen, weil ich ein geiler Typ bin“, vermutet Detlef, nachdem ihm sein Team von dem neuen Projekt erzählt hat. Und so willigt er auch sofort ein mitzumachen – trotz einiger Bedenken. „Allein dieses Reisen stellt mich schon vor ein Abenteuer – auch kopfmäßig, weil ich zwischendurch – so pussimäßig wie sich das auch anhört – Heimweh bekommen werde.“ Doch Heimweh ist nicht das einzige Gefühl, das Detlef auf seiner Reise begleitet. Nachdem Ehefrau Nicole ihn am Bahnhof abgesetzt hat und er vom Team erfährt, dass die Reise nach Paris geht, stellt sich erst mal große Freude ein. Die muss mit der Ankunft am Pariser Bahnhof aber einem weiteren Gefühl weichen: Wut. Denn während das Team in Ruhe einen Kaffee trinkt, muss Detlef die erste Aufgabe meistern: den Mietwagen abholen.
"I think they'll shoot the travel report with me because I'm a cool guy," Detlef assumes after his team tells him about the new project. And so he immediately agrees to take part - despite some reservations. "This travelling alone already presents me with an adventure - also mentally, because in between - as pussy-like as that sounds - I will get homesick." But homesickness is not the only feeling that accompanies Detlef on his journey. After his wife Nicole has dropped him off at the station and he learns from the team that the trip is to Paris, he is initially very happy. But when he arrives at the station in Paris, it gives way to another feeling: Anger. While the team is having a quiet coffee, Detlef has to master the first task: picking up the rental car.

« Je pense qu'ils vont tourner le reportage de voyage avec moi parce que je suis un mec super », suppose Detlef après que son équipe lui a parlé du nouveau projet. Il accepte donc immédiatement d'y participer, malgré quelques réticences. « Rien que ce voyage est une aventure pour moi - aussi pour ma tête, parce que de temps en temps - aussi chiant que cela puisse paraître - j'aurai le mal du pays ». Mais le mal du pays n'est pas le seul sentiment qui accompagne Detlef dans son voyage. Après que sa femme Nicole l'a déposé à la gare et qu'il a appris de la part de l'équipe que le voyage allait se dérouler à Paris, c'est d'abord une grande joie qui s'installe. Mais celle-ci doit céder la place à un autre sentiment à l'arrivée à la gare de Paris : La colère. Car pendant que l'équipe prend tranquillement un café, Detlef doit s'acquitter de sa première tâche : aller chercher la voiture de location.
