Dawn FM is the upcoming fifth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter the Weeknd. It is scheduled to be released through XO and Republic Records on January 7, 2022. The album features guest appearances from Tyler, the Creator and Lil Wayne. It was narrated by Jim Carrey. The album was intended to serve as a direct follow-up to the Weeknd's fourth studio album, After Hours (2020), but he later released the compilation album, The Highlights (2021). The production was handled by the Weeknd himself, Max Martin, Oscar Holter, Quincy Jones, and Oneohtrix Point Never, among others. To support Dawn FM and After Hours, the Weeknd will embark on the After Hours til Dawn Stadium Tour, which is set to span North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Australia.
Donda is the tenth studio album by American rapper Kanye West. It was released through GOOD Music on August 29, 2021, and distributed by Def Jam Recordings. West recorded much of the material at multiple locations in the summer of 2021, including Bighorn Mountain Ranch in Wyoming and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. It features guest vocals from the Sunday Service Choir, Jay-Z, Playboi Carti, Vory, Lil Durk, Lil Baby, the Weeknd, Vory, DaBaby, and Marilyn Manson; vocals from Chris Brown were also included prior to the album being updated. West, BoogzDaBeast, Dem Jointz, Mike Dean, and Ojivolta primarily helmed its production.
Jonatan Aron Leandoer Håstad (born July 18, 1996), known professionally as Yung Lean, is a Swedish rapper, singer and songwriter. Widely cited as one of the most influential figures in the early cloud rap era, Yung Lean rose to prominence in 2013 with his song "Ginseng Strip 2002", which went viral on YouTube. Later that same year, he released his debut mixtape, Unknown Death 2002, and the following year, he released his debut studio album, Unknown Memory. In 2016, Yung Lean released his second mixtape, Frost God, and his second studio album, Warlord. In 2017, he released his third studio album, Stranger, followed by his third mixtape, Poison Ivy, in 2018. Yung Lean's fourth studio album, Starz, was released in 2020.
Symere Bysil Woods (Sai-MIYER) (born July 31, 1995), known professionally as Lil Uzi Vert, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Woods is characterized by his facial tattoos, facial piercings, eccentric hairstyles and androgynous fashion, imagery built on a melodic emo approach to trap. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Lil Uzi Vert gained initial recognition following the release of the commercial mixtape Luv Is Rage (2015), which led to a recording contract with Atlantic Records, to whom he signed under DJ Drama's Generation Now imprint.
Maxie Lee Ryles III (born March 29, 1990), known by his stage name Fivio Foreign, is an American rapper and songwriter. He rose to fame in 2019 with his single "Big Drip", which spawned a remix with rappers Lil Baby and Quavo. He is signed to fellow New York rapper Mase's RichFish Records and Columbia Records. In May 2020, Ryles was featured on Drake's song "Demons", which charted at 34 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning him his first Billboard-charting single. Later that month, he collaborated with Lil Tjay and Pop Smoke on the song "Zoo York", which peaked at 65 on the Hot 100. In August 2021, he reached further recognition through his feature on Kanye West's single "Off the Grid", from West's tenth studio album Donda, which peaked at number 11 on the Hot 100. In 2018, Ryles's mother died from a stroke. Ryles has one child with his girlfriend, born in April 2021. Ryles was friends with the late Pop Smoke and King Von who were both murdered in 2020.
Tyler Gregory Okonma (born March 6, 1991), professionally known as Tyler, the Creator, is an American rapper and record producer. Following a large contribution to Odd Future's early work, Tyler released his debut solo mixtape, Bastard, in 2009. After releasing his debut studio album, Goblin, via XL Recordings in April 2011, he signed a joint deal with RED Distribution and Sony Music Entertainment for himself and his label, Odd Future Records.
Kendrick Lamar Duckworth (born June 17, 1987) is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is often cited as one of the most influential rappers of his generation. Aside from his solo career, he is also a member of the hip hop supergroup Black Hippy alongside his former Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) labelmates Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and Schoolboy Q. Raised in Compton, California, Lamar embarked on his musical career as a teenager under the stage name K.Dot, releasing a mixtape titled Y.H.N.I.C. (Hub City Threat Minor of the Year) that garnered local attention and led to his signing with indie record label TDE. He began to gain recognition in 2010 after his first retail release, Overly Dedicated. The following year, he independently released his first studio album, Section.80, which included his debut single "HiiiPoWeR". By that time, he had amassed a large online following and collaborated with several prominent rappers.
