Following the finalization of her divorce, Ronnie celebrates her new life by inviting Olive with her to Atlantic City. Soon after, she meets Alan, a guy whom she thinks is her soul mate, and makes plans with him instead. After Olive gets upset, Ronnie cancels her date with Alan. While in Atlantic City, Ronnie and Olive get hammered. Then, when Ronnie wakes up in her apartment the next morning, she finds a strange man in her bed. After investigating, Ronnie is horrified to learn that, in her drunken stupor, she celebrated her divorce by getting remarried to a total stranger. Unlike Ronnie, Edwin, her new husband, remembers everything, and considers their marriage a match made in heaven. Ronnie is revolted by Edwin, however, and uses every means to get him to go away. He tries to persuade her to stick around, but their marriage puts a big damper on Ronnie's plans to romance Alan.
