Fünf Jahre sitzt Julia unschuldig hinter Gittern. Die engagierte Lehrerin soll ihren Schüler Felix Weixler verführt und erstochen haben. Als ein Zufallsfund sie vom Mordvorwurf entlastet, versucht Julia neu durchzustarten. Der durch den Tod seiner Partnerin schwer traumatisierte Hauptkommissar Max Kauth rollt indessen den tragischen Mordfall neu auf und stößt auf zahlreiche Ungereimtheiten.
