Optimus Prime and Megatron once again face each other in an epic battle for control over the Earth; the Autobots and Decepticons come across some clues that could have the potential to change the war and perhaps restore Cybertron. Starscream goes on a quest for Red Energon; a new Autobot joins Team prime.
Un novellino Autobot arriva sulla Terra, ma sembra essere troppo desideroso di combattere i Decepticon, con grande dispiacere degli altri Autobot, specialmente del Bulkhead storpio, che non può andare in battaglia.
Durante una pelea con los Decepticons, los Autobots son inesperadamente la ayuda de Smokescreen, un joven y aventurero Autobot. A pesar de que el equipo no tiene confianza en el recién llegado, Optimus Prime invita a Smokescreen a la base para la formación continua. Más tarde, Starscream y los Autobots pelean para conseguir Red Energon, que otorga al consumidor una mayor velocidad. Los Autobots regresar a la base, donde Optimus Prime acoge a Smokescreen como el miembro más reciente del grupo, aunque no muchos no estén muy contentos, en especial Bulkhead que siente que lo remplazaron.
