Zeke versucht einem unglücklichen Marine mit Selbstmordabsichten das Leben zu retten und muss nebenbei noch auf Sergeant Bridgers Tochter Stacy aufpassen, die hinter die mysteriösen Todesumstände ihres Vaters kommen will. McKay hat Goldman auf Heckenschützenjagd geschickt, um ihn loszuwerden und Alex für sich allein zu haben. Damit hat er seinen Rivalen ohne es zu wollen in Lebensgefahr gebracht. Währenddessen haben Ruiz und Percell weibliche Begleitung in Form einer Vietcong-Kämpferin bekommen. Die Stadt scheint ruhig, doch die ganze Truppe schwebt in Gefahr...
Anderson meets with his wife and sees her off after her announcement that she is remarrying. Goldman begins a relationship with Devlin which almost ends as they are both nearly blown up by a VC bomb. Percell is fed up with the senselessness of the war and Ruiz becomes convinced that he is going to be the next to die. Johnson and Taylor go to check on Bridger only to be told that he is dead (he is faking it), while Stacy Bridger has arrived to find her father. Goldman is ordered to have Alex pull her story about the soldier who died in the opium parlor and Zeke runs into Stacy Bridger -- rescuing her from some Vietnamese punks. He takes her back to the hotel where Zeke ends up trying to save a suicidal marine deserter. The deserter has sold information to the VC and ends up killing himself. Meanwhile McKay sends Goldman on a "snipe" hunt so that he can be alone with Alex, and inadvertently exposes Goldman to serious danger.
(Saigon le 16 mai. Les attaques surprises des communistes contre Saigon et la plupart des chefs-lieux de district du Viêt Nam du sud ont été très violentes. Depuis des années les VC et les nord Vietnamiens combattent dans la jungle. Aujourd'hui pour la première fois, c'est contre les villes qu'ils ont mené leur plus importante offensive depuis le début de la guerre. Bien qu'ils soient militairement battus aujourd'hui, les communistes ont fait la démonstration de leur capacité à déclencher une attaque massive à l'échelle de tout le pays. Cela soulève bien des questions quant aux perspectives d'une victoire Américaine. On est encore loin d'apercevoir le bout du tunnel)
Anderson ontmoet zijn vrouw en krijgt de aankondiging dat ze gaat hertrouwen. Goldman begint een relatie met Devlin, die bijna eindigt omdat ze bijna worden opgeblazen door een VC-bom. Percell is de zinloosheid van de oorlog zat en Ruiz raakt ervan overtuigd dat hij de volgende zal zijn die zal sterven. Johnson en Taylor gaan bij Bridger kijken om te horen dat hij dood is, terwijl Stacy Bridger aangekomen is om haar vader te vinden. Goldman krijgt de opdracht om Alex haar verhaal te laten vertellen over de soldaat die stierf in de opiumsalon en Zeke redt Stacy Bridger van enkele Vietnamese punks. Hij neemt haar mee terug naar het hotel, waar Zeke probeert een suïcidale deserteur te redden. Deze heeft informatie aan de VC verkocht en pleegt zelfmoord. Ondertussen stuurt McKay Goldman op 'sluipschutter'-jacht, zodat hij alleen met Alex kan zijn en Goldman onbedoeld blootstelt aan ernstig gevaar.
