Penny, a young woman with a desire to become a professional jockey, spots an unruly horse named Woodhill. She convinces her aunt to buy the horse, in spite of her father's skepticism. Other, more experienced jockeys sneer at Penny for attempting to break into what they consider to be a man's sport.
