Check out my ghetto comp!
The ugly beast of a computer returns, but does it still work properly?
A fun little project I did to resurrect my old laptop. Windows 2000 was installed on a Gateway 200ARC with a 1.40GHZ Pentium M and 2GB of RAM using an SD card as its main boot volume.
I take another look at my old Powerbook 5300c. If you were disgusted by the quality of the previous incarnation of this overview, this video is for you. This is also an extremely in-depth video exploring System 7.6.1 and is somewhat lengthily.
A long overdue nostalgia project. I spent nearly a week getting this system all set up and ready to game. For a machine made entirely of spare parts, I'm quite pleased with the results. This is part one of two videos about the Win98 Machine and the games I play on it.
A long running nostalgic gaming marathon (Get some popcorn). Here I go through a good number of my favorites from way back in the day.
AkBKuku and I tackle the co-op mode of Unreal, both using our custom built Windows 98 Machines.
Me and AkBKukU take on the network multiplayer mode of Frogger (the Windows 95 version) and play all the levels.
The Ultimate DOS Machine boots up Windows, fires up Prosound and plays a midi version of "Hotel California" using the Creative AWE64 sound card.
Next up in our Win98 LAN party series, we'll be taking a look at Pac-Man Adventures in time which has an... interesting network multiplayer component.
AkBKukU and I hit up some racing in Flatout using video cards from two totally different generations. Chaos ensues.
AkBKukU and I finally tackle the Pod Racer multiplayer on Windows 98 over IPX LAN. A lifelong dream for both of us, finally has come true. But is it as fun as we remember? Spoiler: It is. As far as we can tell, this is still the de-facto way to play this game, especially for multiplayer. However it is still possible to play this game on modern systems, and have it work quite well. We may have a future video about running the game on newer machines, but for the time being, Windows 98 is where it's at. This is also the largest and longest video project I've ever done to date.
Blockland goes on sale. This happens shortly afterward. Is a 7 year old game still worth playing? Me and AkBKukU find out.
I get personally invited to play the Quantum Rush beta. Chaos Ensues.
I break out the Power Mac G4 and check out games, music/video playback, web browsing and movie editing in Mac OS 9. Also I boot into Mac OS X and proceed to be a total noob, but at least I was able to watch a YouTube video.
I continue my Power Mac adventure to check out DVD playback and some gaming.
I take an in-depth (perhaps too in-depth) look at a dedicated speech synthesis computer from Arkenstone. I bought this back in 2010 for around $200 on eBay. I've been wanting to make a video about this computer since then, but I've always hesitated on starting the project because it's really dry subject matter which only reminds me of the frustration of programming DecTalk for singing using MS-DOS. Here's the video anyway, detailing everything there is to know about this machine. If i can ever get it's original hard disk working and bootable, ill showcase the Windows 3.11 DecTalk tools. ... If they even exist or, much less, work.
Here, I review the 2002 game WingNuts: Temporal Navigator by Freeverse Software.
I managed to score a free Mac Mini a few weeks ago, but it ended up having a bad hard drive. So I took out the adapter and SD card from my last experiment, and threw it in the "new" Mac Mini to see if I could get it to do anything. Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard was installed on a Mac Mini (Powermac10,2 / Late 2005) with a 1.5 GHZ PPC G4 with 512 MB of RAM, using a 32 GB SD card as it's main startup disk. While I was recording this video I went in totally blind and had no idea whether or not this was going to work. I had never taken apart a Mac Mini before and I didn't even know what type of hard disk was in the Mac Mini. I got really lucky.
In efforts to make the dream computer of my childhood faster than light, I run into a few snags....
I found some parts to upgrade thePower Mac G4. Here's what we can do with them, and how they can enhance our G4 experience. I also mispronounce Radeon at least six times. I actually read the wrong spec sheet for this model, it can actually have 1.5 GB of RAM. Interestingly enough, I have just enough extra RAM to ACTUALLY max this out, but I don't think you'd be able to tell the difference if I had.
In this video, I blindly venture through the process of installing an SSD (Compact flash card with IDE adapter) into a Power Mac G3. Yes, I am apparently determined to put some sort of solid state storage in all of my computers.
The saga continues... Worth the effort? You decide!
I test out Quake 1 on the Power Mac G3. My first 60 FPS video! Flicker warning! There are short durations of flashing.
The UDM makes a comeback! Now with all new hardware in 60 FPS! In this video I revisit the revisited video and get it done right, with a few extra things. This video will cover the DOS portion of this build, next week's video will cover the Windows 3.11 portion.
Part 2 of UDM - RS. I don't really know anything about old sound cards.
Happy 4/20 Peace out to mah homies and that Stevie-J 4 makin dat crace iMizzle gfour
60 FPS "HD" Kid Pix. An experimental video type, proceed with caution. Also thanks for 1000 subs, a special is coming soon.
Druaga1: Drawing worse than 3rd graders since 2006
Another video about booting a computer off of an SD card. This is for sure the oldest one yet! But I cheated a bit this time. (See parts) This literally works as easily as plugging it in and selecting an image. The Floppy Emu is connected to the Mac's rear external floppy connector port.
After a slight YouTube hiatus I return with part 2 of me messing around with random disk images on the Mac 512k using the floppy disk emulator. This is a lengthy video with minimal (yet, still time consuming) editing. I remember hearing that some of you preferred long uncut videos? Let me know if you get bored.
The Mac 512k and The Floppy Emu return once more, now featuring Mac Man, Maze Wars, Psion Chess (3D Chess), and Rogue.
For a slight change of pace, I uploaded a 45 minute lets play video of AkBKukU and I playing Brutal Doom. Enjoy! Plz dun kill meh, moar regular videoz on teh way.
I find an "AirPort Compatible" wireless card. Will it work with the Power Mac G4? Yet another video where I don't use my capture card for some reason.
Because all the cool kids are doing it. Watch in HD to read things and see dust particles floating around. I'm using some different mics in this video. Tell me if stuff sounds bad.
I finally figured out something else to do with that damn SSD.
A "deleted scene" from Installing Windows 98 on an SSD.
Pepsi and I play the following RTS games all at the same time: - Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm - Grey Goo - Age of Empires II: HD Edition - Planetary Annihilation - All games were set up as 2v2 vs AI - Pepsi apparently set the difficulty too high on the Grey Goo game =/ Other than that every other game was in a very easy/winable mode.
I would sure like to think so for the majority of this video. Alternate subtitle for this video: "Will I make another video about this SSD" Answer: Probably =P
Every time I want to make a quick video, it always turns out to be about 20 minutes long. Now with 100% more innuendos.
Everything went better than expected. I also have trouble pronouncing graphics card names. Copypasta from Wickerpeads: The third series of Bigfoot drives was known as the Quantum Bigfoot TX series. This series increased the drives' spindle speed to 4,000 RPM and upgraded their interface capabilities to ATA-66. These drives carried the higher capacities of 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB, and 12 GB. Like the CY series, access time was advertised as under 12 ms. The 12 GB model is noteworthy for being the first hard drive to attain a capacity in the double digits of gigabytes. Quantum claimed that these drives could outperform many of the 3.5-inch drives on the market at the time.
I install Windows XP on an SSD then play Lego Island 2 on it.
Things to know about this video: -I slur words probably due to lack of sleep -This video took longer to make because reasons -There are probably a lot of innacuracies related to RAID as i'm not very familiar with it. So get ready to yell at me.
My Dad gets his wish! This is the first video after a LONG time that was edited on a Mac.
Sleep is a good idea. This is a two part video. The first is me trying to do a video about an iBook I acquired, and the second is of me playing a video game very badly while I talk about stuffs.
Watch me break priceless computer hardware from the 80's!
I put a good inside my computer. My hard drive died soon after uploading this video. (That's probably what was keeping GTA from loading.) Back up your data!
This video took a long time to make. Mainly because I get sidetracked a lot in this video.
Unfortunately, the result was pretty terribad. But damn, I'm surprised this worked! This is probably the shortest computer video I'll ever be able to make.
How did this video even get made? How the hell did this work?
One of the oldest surviving (and still functional) pieces of "tech" that I own. Enjoy! I also just noticed that the Tyco logo is stylized to have an infinity symbol.... yeah, infinite useless footage.
You have to be a real trooper to watch through this whole thing. This is the requested video. I really have no idea how it got this long. (This video camera is cursed and likes to make a LOT of video footage) Man there's enough empty space in that thing, I could fit like a raspberry pi in it or something. (maybe i will!) This video took 15 hours to upload.
Happy New Year everyone! Holy crap this turned out being WAY longer than I expected. For those of you who just like to hear me talk, this is the video for you. Thanks everyone for all the questions. Sorry those of you I didn't get to. I agreed to make this video as Deadpixelator suggested that I make it as a 6000 subscriber milestone. Oddly enough, in the time it took me to make it and upload it, I managed to get up to almost 7000 subscribers! Thank you all!
Enjoy your average weekly video! Note about the onscreen timers: It sorta seems like they are running a bit too fast for whatever reason. Either way, you get the idea. I need to start looking for better ways to test SSDs =\
Someone said they wanted longer videos... Right? Specs of the "new" Win 98 Machine (+/- comparison with Original build) : ASUS A7V-133 Motherboard (Same model mobo as the first video!) AMD Athlon XP 1700+ @ 1.4 GHZ (+) 512 MB of PC100 (probably) RAM (I'll install more if i need it)(-) 32 GB KingSpec 2.5-inch PATA/IDE SSD w/ full size IDE adapter(+) Matrox Millennium G450 DualHead w/ 32 MB of VRAM (+ & - ?) Sound Blaster Live! Sound Card (+) Hauppauge WinTV TV Tuner Card 1 DVD Reader Drive & 1 CD-RW Drive (+) Beige Generic Case (+)
After all my editing and corrections for the video, I overlooked the most obvious indicator for what the computer this even is. The model number is on the bottom of the case. It seems just the front panel is incorrect. Oh how trusting that caused me so much woe! Hopefully the video is still enjoyable even though I'm getting pretty hyped for it being 68k... when it's not. Software that now works probably just works because it works well only on System 7 which seems to be the real hero of this video. This video took 17-18 hours to make. Hope it was worth it! Also sorry for the audio issues in the non-video parts, I literally just ran out of my free time to fix that.
The 2013 Retina MacBook Pro throws down against the machine with a much disputed model: The Macintosh Performa 6200CD.
Oh god my ears. Enjoy another long video. Maybe someday I'll be able to make a 15 minute long one again.
The Sound Blaster video is here! And I cant make short videos any more! Lot of rambling in this episode, but there are a few surprises sprinkled in as well. Special thanks to Richard Audd for letting me use his song in the video!
Thanks Everyone for 10,000 subscribers! A special video is on the way!
The longest video ever! There may be some compression artifacting, I had to compress the hell out of this video for it to upload in time. (ended up being a 2.2 GB file) Most of the stuff onscreen should look fine at lower bitrates even still. Here is me playing with most of the After Dark screen savers on the Macintosh Performa 6200 running Mac OS 7.6 This video has VERY minimal editing to give it that "marathon/stream" feel to it. Enjoy! Also I had no idea I could do video capture on this old of a machine. So go figure.
Are you patient? Good. Prepare for unseen and edited-out roadblocks and frustration =D Yet I have a yearning to make more videos with this motherboard.
I'm gud at math lul
I was going to do a video about installing Windows 98 on a 2007 Macbook but it didn't work so I made this. Also seizure warning.
There I dun did it and made up for the "short" video yesterday. Now I know what operating systems you CAN'T install on a 2007 MacBook. Srsly guise I work full time and I need to sleep.
I install multiple versions of MacKeeper to study it's half-decade evolution ....and things happen. This video went places that I didn't expect (Such as the Soviet Union, Twitter and danooct1's toothpaste tube). It's also crazy long. Why can't I make shorter videos? ;_; Have fun you crazy marathon-ers!
Yup what the title says basically.
Windows 98 Machine Specs: (I forgot most of the specs and say the wrong things in the video a lot so use this as the proper guide): ASUS A7V-133 Motherboard AMD Athlon XP 1700+ @ 1.4 GHZ 512 MB of PC100 (probably) RAM 32 GB KingSpec 2.5-inch PATA/IDE SSD w/ full size IDE adapter Matrox Millennium G450 DualHead w/ 32 MB of VRAM (And then later): Nvidia 3DForce FX-5200 with 128 MB VRAM Sound Blaster Live! Sound Card Hauppauge WinTV TV Tuner Card 1 DVD Reader Drive & 1 CD-RW Drive Beige Generic Case
The most boring (yet most complicated to edit) video ever most likely holy crap this 3 GB video only took one hour to upload I'm crying.
Splitting this video into parts to accelerate the release of this extremely long video. (especially because there wasn't a real video last week). No, the parts wont be an hour long each, but there is just so much crap going on in this video that this was way easier. Oh yeah and here I get ready to install Windows 2 n stuff. Enjoy.
Since I'm so used to things being easy with newer computers, I get complacent and forget a bunch of things I learned from long ago. Enjoy. Also DOS can be horribly frustrating. Expect these videos to have a lot of troubleshooting cut out =\
Continuing the weird "video-a-day" experiment: I present to you the most boring, cringe-worthy experience of me troubleshooting DOS. (And frankly, I'm as terrible at it as I always have been.) Can you survive? I noticed that I probably reinstalled a bunch of stuff more times that I needed to. Oh well.
It's the finnnalll countdowwwnnnnn... dananana .... dana na na na... dananana.. dananadananana nanana ...
Happy 420 Smokers! This video is a bit noisy because server. Hopefully it's still watchable. If not, I'm sure there is some weed somewhere for ya. Also, apparently someone came up with the idea for this video right around the same hour I did. We got dat blaze connection, chaknowmsayink?
From what I've learned, ReactOS is intended to mimic Windows Server 2003/NT 5.1 and newer versions of directX are supposedly supported. I avoided newer games to avoid the long install times (ie doom 3, call of duty etc) Since they probably wouldn't end up working. The downside is i ended up trying most of the games from the Win9x era which ReactOS is not intended to replicate. So oh well. Also this video is pretty boring (since it is quite difficult to even get the simplest of things working, and takes a long time) and sorta makes ReactOS look kinda bad (it's VERY incomplete) which is not really my intention, i think the ReactOS project is awesome as hell and i wish the developers much luck in their endeavors.
Here, I experience the benefits of a GPU upgrade, but things don't go as planned.
The video you've all been waiting for. Or wait... Have you? Some of you still wanted to see me install Windows XP on a MacBook for some reason so here ya go.
Unboxing XP : +25 [===---------------] LEVEL 0
I put an SSD inside of a VHS tape housing/cartridge/whatever. Turned out better than expected. Here's a quick showcasing video. And before you poop, there's another video coming this week.
Astral Entertainment's Story behind Pac-Guy
There were a lot of requests for what to do with this MacBook, so I did all of them... sorta. It took a long time. Upgrade Path: Windows XP Pro Windows Vista Ultimate Windows 7 Ultimate Windows 8 Pro Windows 10 Pro
Whenever I say "SATA 6" I mean SATA III (6Gbps). Whenever I say "SATA 3" I mean SATA II (3Gbps).
Here I do a bunch of things with a computer that I don't know that much about and make it do a bunch of stuff that it's not really designed to do.
AkBKukU and I play DOOM once again, forced to play as close to the original style as possible due to lack of doom support on the ARM architecture. It's a lets play video with an even more lengthy "making of Linux troubleshooting" video which will follow it later on. We had to compile the chocolate doom source code for our platforms (which is apparently a pretty common thing when it comes to Linux.)
This TV looks like crap. Why oh why did I use it? Seriously why did Apple "make" this?
Here I become overwhelmed by the insanity of late 90's linux and become sidetracked trying to do one thing for an hour. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY PACKAGES. I seriously couldn't find all the apps it said it had. Never trust the hellish. This is why I never do linux videos =C The GNOME help browser sure looked like a web browser and probably would work as one, but I didn't have internet working to use it anyway.
Install SSD in Netbook, Install Lubuntu. Simple right? This is the best example of things going wrong. There are also a lot of things that could be taken out of context in this video. inb4 edited clips I'm also noticing I start to mimic the speaking style of whatever YouTube I happen to be watching at the time of making any particular video. If you can tell which YouTubers I have been watching while i have been making these... holy crap, it'll be like looking at rings in a tree, i swear.
It's really easy and I'm not sure why this has never happened to me since I started playing when this was in beta. Inb4 they fixed this by the time I uploaded this.
I know some of you were expecting some sort of crazy SSD video to celebrate my 10th year on youtube, but that wouldn't represent what has happened over all these years. My channel was not always as it is now. Back then, it served as a stream of consciousness over time of what happened to interest me back then. Here's a summary of some old videos I uploaded over the years, most of them have been taken down for various reasons and briefly return from the grave here.
Apparently YouTube doesn't like weed that much.
Yes, It's finally happening. I love the Power Mac G5 ..... It's ... so bad.
This SSD doesn't seem to work with Power Mac G5.
Strap on your anti-cringe hemp headbands, you're going to need them! This is the first episode in a multi-part series that spanned almost 3 episodes! I have enough old footage to create probably a total of 4 or 5 episodes for you guys, but this is one of two that were fully edited and previously uploaded (and later removed, of course). In this episode, I try to get audio working on an IBM Aptiva 550 running Windows 98. Then I get some asinine idea to downgrade the processor to one that won't fit. Luckily that doesn't happen in this episode. (This was the originally edited footage).
Start biting your nails now.
If you thought the last episode was bad, just you wait! This is the second episode in a multi-part series that .. well only had 2 episodes uploaded, this being the second one. I have a lot of old footage still, so I might make some funny edits to the old footage that was intended to be serious later on. In this episode I really lose track of what I'm doing. So basically like every normal Druaga1 episode. I go from trying to downgrade the processor to defragmenting the hard disk, then partitioning the drive for dual booting windows 3.11 and 98. Basically a bunch of random stuff that didn't end up working (or at least it was never shown). Currently, the next teased episode never really existed (unless you count The Ultimate DOS Machine as an episode (that video was released in July) I was speaking quietly in the beginning of the video because it was late and I was supposed to be in bed.
I traveled back in time in an attempt to re-do this video without epic failure. The timeline can be altered, but is the same true for my destiny? My gut says maybe.
This guy has SSD wings.
Even this may get a sequel. Also, corrections don't help, I just find more things wrong.
DV Camcorder used: Sony DCR-TRV19 HD Camcorder used for recording this video: Sony HDR-CX150 Other notes: -WinDV auto splits clips into separate files every time you "cut" on the video tape, it also only starts recording when it's getting a video stream (you wont record the "blueness" of blank tape area) -AmCap probably works fine if you're using a better camera, it can be downloaded from one of the links below. -Windows XP boots in about 30 seconds from the press of the power button (so that includes BIOS so whatever)
Have you always wanted to see an alternate-timeline 2007 where I continued the Ian's Computer Show series and never took it off YouTube? Now is your chance to experience a video that never should have existed. I apparently tried to download a keygen and it just deleted itself on launch, I assumed this to be a virus (it probably was some form of trojan) I then proceeded to download random stuff that seemed suspicious/scary/DOS (DOS is scary and suspicious) in an effort to infect the machine as fast as possible. This didn't pan out and I ended up creating the footage for the original "How to mess up windows me" video, by deleting a bunch of stuff from the windows folder.
Well this was fun.
That "Techno Music".
Learn the fascinating origins of the Ultimate DOS Machine in this exclusive look into Druaga1's past, featuring a never before seen vlog! Back in the old days of YouTube, custom thumbnails weren't an option unless you were partner or something. Back then, we had to take what YouTube gave us. So here's a thumbnail that doesn't properly represent anything in the video since the image in question only appeared for literally half a second.
Never have I spent so many hours trying to open a single text document.
It's unlike any power button I've ever seen.
Yup, it has finally happened.
We have OS 9 up and running on the SSD, but is the G4 Cube any good at gaming? Find out!
I put a Crucial MX300 in a Compaq Presario CQ62. And that's about it.
Happy Halloween! Get ready for some spoops. I put extra effort into this one both to finally address my history with 3D Body Adventure, and to sorta semi celebrate 60k subs, thanks guys! 3d body adventure is devoid of any escapism or humor(save for the Body Recall victory cartoon), it is a bleak, hopeless and stressful experience that is unfriendly to a child audience. It also currently holds 0 educational value due to all of it's information being 20+ years out of date. There is a special circle of hell for people who are forced to edit 3D body videos. You might say i went to hell and back to make this.
Seriously though, I was not feeling that "with it" this week. Consider this video as me taking the current week off. New video next week hopefully.
It should be easier than it looks. Also the bootup time for this setup is so atrocious that I wont list it here.
I say the word "considerably" a lot. 0.4.3 is a definite improvement on 0.4.0 from my last video.
It's a printer and I love it.
In the naming scheme used at that time, Apple indicated the presence of a 68030 processor by adding the letter "x" to a model's name, but when the Macintosh SE was updated to the 68030, this posed an awkward problem, as Apple was not willing to name their new computer the "Macintosh SEx". Thus, "SE/30" was the name chosen.
It was rigged.
Merry Christmas everyone! Is this video your Christmas miracle? Or my Christmas curse? There were other working titles to this video, such as "How NOT to set up an SSD RAID".
Happy New Year! Here's a simple video of me revisiting the Crysis experience on the Mac Pro, something I haven't done for 10 years. It was VERY laggy last time I tried it... Lets give it another go, this time with a GeForce 8800 GT (1GB VRAM) and 12 GB of RAM.
Happy New Year, everyone! Lets take a look back at some stuff that happened in 2016.
This is a good example of how not reading and researching things carefully can result in blundering errors. In this episode, I install the wrong OS and don't realize this until I'm done editing. My intention was to install AmigaOS, NOT MorphOS which is just amiga-like. FML
Here I set up and play Portal on an Apple IIe with the Apple Monitor II, a green phosphor CRT. This game is in color, but you can only see GREEEEEN baby!
A haphazard rambling video about some "important" things by a guy who doesn't smoke weed. I feel much better now. Merci d'avoir regardé!
It's like when you hit Mummy's Curse in Lego Racers except way worse.
The simplest video ever?
No new video this week because moving.
I think I found the perfect intro to every video. Don't worry, I figure out the disk image issue. But that's not until next week!
Extra points to whoever can spot the dogcow!
Apparently some people are obsessed with the last Taquito video, so I made another one.
Next week: Making Bob Ross Happy Trees with Mounting Putty.
When it comes to troubleshooting these things, I'm set on Nightmare-mode pretty much all the time.
The Druaga1 talks a lot episode. Be sure to read the system requirements before installing any game. Also Vista =/= XP
A video with real modding potential!
Thanks to everyone who has made these!
Druaga finally realizes he's hit rock bottom. I have no idea what to do for the 4/20 video.
Happy 4/20! Some awesome fans helped put together a short compilation for the special day since I was unable to make a video for it. Thanks a lot, guys!
Editing down 45+ minute tech videos into a more manageable time frame, just for your hectic schedule. Now with a few surprises for those repeat viewers.
AkBKukU has stepped up to make a video for the channel while I'm on break. Some people have had trouble telling our voices apart. Maybe you won't be able to either, and it will just be another Druaga1 video. This video was 100% Edited on Linux using Blender.
AkBKukU returns with part 2 of the DOOM server series.
Don't worry guys, this is me.
My dad finally gets a newer Mac, but he needs his data transferred. Should we do this the easy way or the hard way? Had a lot of fun making this one.
This week, I take my first look at one of the most desired computers from when I was younger: The Apple IIGS
Maybe I like Modulae too much? Aka the Modulae video.
The other two episodes exhibited everything working. Lets change that and get nothing done for Part 3.
In a parallel universe, I become an indie game developer. I go on to develop both Braid and Machinarium. Both games turn out to be enormous critical failures. Eventually I sell out to Infinity Ward to help develop Ride to Hell: Retribution, which releases to critical acclaim. For historical reference, Red Dead Redemption exists as a Miniclip flash game in this universe. Every middle schooler from 2004 has played it.
Bumbling around with operating systems I know nothing about is my specialty. The SSD has returned.
Yes, I installed it on an SSD. Windows 10 Host System.
Quite possibly the worst video I've ever made
AkBKukU's Dell Ultrasharp 2007PF sucks sometimes.
A "Raw" stream segment from our December Windows 98 LAN party. Here, AkBKukU and I work tirelessly to acquire and install a working patch for Starcraft so we can play a game to wrap up our streaming day. There may be some procrastination involved.
Me messing around in the Win98 Windows folder. Is this educational? I hope so. I'm apparently on a bit of a Windows 98 Kick.
Ah crap, now there's gonna need to be a part 2 of this because I missed some cool stuff. Other video ideas that didn't work out for today: -Windows 1 PAINT on Sierra -Manually Migrating Logic Express Sampler Instruments -Installing Window ME in DOSBox Maybe I should make a failure montage video?
For those of you who thought the other video on the internet about this game was too short.
Won 3rd place in the worst thumbnail awards 2011.
Recorded live on Twitch - 5 December 2016
iOS 11 cometh. On March 26, 2014, Disney Interactive Studios announced that both JellyCar 2 and JellyCar 3 would be retired, along with many other applications, and that the applications would no longer be available for download.
Maybe I'll use a VM next time, like they told me...
Yeah this was a puzzler, I needed some help with editing and for some reason he wanted to edit the footage that had nothing in it. Go figure.
Parody of the original 1998 music video by bis
A few hiccups with this one but it's k
Or, you know, DON'T sabotage your mac mini and just use it normally, it's WiFi broadcast range is probably garbage anyway. Had some nice testing with blurry censor bars. Too bad they kinda wrecked the video and no nobody will believe me that my wifi sucks oh well. Disclaimer: This video is satirical, but it is technically correct, since the attacker for this exploit does need to be in range of your WiFi signal to skim any information. Also the mac mini looks like it's turned off because i broke the LED internally when reassembling it because I'm terrible.
Crap I forgot what I was gonna put here. Oh yeah, Happy Halloween.
I use Mac Minis for Pi-level stuff.
Somehow it worked, I'm not sure how. Mpxplay is magic, that's how. I'll find some way to mount this properly and i'll figure out what the best solution for resizing the drive is. Even if it means reinstalling windows. (or dos somehow)
When having the Windows version of DOS just won't do...
I talk about some things about last week and my progress with my music player netbook.
This was going to be a full Druaga1 video, but it didn't work out.
I'm seriously going to try out and see if this is feasible. Has some trouble with dialog boxes and multiple monitors. Yeah those bugs are never getting fixed.
Thanks for all the memories and for changing my life forever, AIM. You will be missed. And yes, every single person was offline and had moved on years ago. ...Should have done this on Windows 98, dangit!
This is another video from the "failed" series. Probably some good info here for those of you interested in Wineskin.
I have learned the magic of DD Have a good holiday everyone!
A short video of me trying ... again.. to get Lego Rock Raiders working on Windows 10. Something that is supposedly possible. Reading instructions is also supposedly possible. I'll keep trying this until i can get it running and then beat it on Windows 10 ore something.
The dream finally comes true. Keyboard used is a Yamaha PSR-175. Thanks to AkBKukU for providing it!
The beloved series has returned! Now with an even faster G4. Lets just put everything inside of that one!
The channel has changed a lot over the past year and things have been kinda difficult for me.
"I don’t really have any artistic ability"
Reliving the most played game of my childhood in as many pixels as I can push. Or can I?
Well this is an interesting matchup.
Croc everything.
Druaga1 and AkBKukU try to install a period correct distro of linux on the 98 Machine.
Druaga1 and AkBKukU continue try to install a period correct distro of linux on the 98 Machine.
At long last! The raw music is mine!
Druaga1 goes over his album Island 2.0 and discusses inspirations.
New hardware? On this channel? Blasphemy. But there is an SSD involved. Not blasphemy.
A video of satire about how unreasonable some companies are about things.
This is not raw footage. This is fully edited.
I know, the new Rabbids game with Mario is reportedly very good. I'm still mad Rayman got left out of it/Rabbids killed Rayman.
Never thought I'd be doing successful networking with Windows 95. This is amazing.
The DOS Machine rebuild begins! But mostly me bumbling around again. This time we're going back to my roots. Will my first motherboard ever make the true period correct build?
The ye-olde motherboard didnt work, so lets try something even older! Maybe this will be the solution to all my problems?
The DOS Machine continues to evolve, now with some hardware upgrades. But there is danger ahead!
I didn't know how this version of the software exists. And to think I'm within the system requirements for it! What?!
Networking on Windows 3.11 - It's not as hard as it looks.
Finally, the mystery is uncovered.
Rip In Peace Sweet Top Hat.
Now for the most underwhelming vid since we installed Win98 on an SSD. Now with boot speeds beyond your imagination.... Or, my imagination anyway...
How could dis happen?
The fans chose my destiny this time around.
Pure. Torture. Apparently there are much more impressive things that can be done in this arena. But hell if I'm willing to slog through that to get em done.
Here I try to get as many OS'es booting on one drive as I can.
I started working on this video one week ago.
This mostly wasn't a pain.
The infrared connection has been interrupted and will disconnect soon. Seconds until disconnection: 35
Here's another Windows Beta that may have been the most requested for me to do a video on.
It's a first impressions video, I guess?
It's Windows 2000 but more friendly I guess. Is it "Microsoft Neptune" or "Windows Neptune?
The last time I played this it was on Windows ME in 2003.
It's the beta of XP and it's pretty interesting.
The true Halloween nightmare horror was making this video.
Just some things I needed to update you guys on.
Oh god I'm tired
Haiku is awesome!
Using an Nvidia 8800 GT 1GB.
Check out Visopsys.
It's boring!
This one should help as a sleep aid. It did for me. I call floppy disk drives "floppy disks" and I call floppy disks "floppy drives" in this video. Call the nursing home, I got out again.
This video is long and I didn't realize that I have basically done everything in the video before save for the "new" motherboard. I didn't realize though, because I was having so much fun =D yay!
Special thanks to TechMaxWare for helping me cheat at installing Arch.
Don't worry Nancy, I'll be a good boy today.
This is a music video that celebrates all the fun i had LAN party-ing CNC late into the night with my high school buddies a decade ago. Ten years ago this month I uploaded "Command and Conquer: Kane's Spam" which was a terribly low quality, laggy clip video of all my FRAPS recordings of CnC:KW put to Granite by Pendulum. It was so bad, I even re-made the video in iMovie (which had HD support or something) a year or so later. I was hoping to make that my first HD video on Youtube, but the actual source footage was only 480p. So it wasn't really HD. A decade later, I came across the original raw FRAPS footage again and tried to see if i could re-edit the old videos more precisely using my modern editing software. Some inspiration happened and I decided to re-create all the footage, the song itself and put in my own parody lyrics using DecTalk.
A video where I go in depth with the production process behind Kane's Spam, which took 3 months and 6 very different pieces of software to complete. Videos sometimes take a long time to make.
Using Office 97 to make graphs about a 1997 game and both still work on Windows 10 - Eat your heart out macOS! I use "Raw PCM data" interchangeably with "uncompressed audio" I was also off on the dates of the LEGO island anniversary because i got the release date wrong when i wrote the script sorry.
Happy 20th Anniversary Lego Racers! (well in a few months anyway) Also I couldn't power slide to the left for some reason. Also my dad was like "Wtf are you doing" when i went to go look out of the window XD This took almost two full days to complete. Using king kahuka served a dual purpose of being the de-facto weed guy and being my favorite racer when i was a kid.
Haven't found Dave yet! Gameplay recorded from an XP VM. Levels load instantly in it for some reason XD. This is also the reason for poor performance in some areas.
The mystery persists.
Happy 20th Birthday Dreamcast! Here, me and fasa play cross platform multiplayer between Windows 98 and Dreamcast.
Kneesnap takes me on a journey into Frogger far far beyond anything I could have ever imagined.
This is a video I planned on being the 100k special to revisit a video which begain a style of videos that really got my channel off the ground back in the day, but the timing didn't line up quite that well, and the initial footage wasn't that great. As a result, I ditched the video and started working on another video that was much more complex/involved and I currently cant see it getting done anytime soon. So I decided to remake the Win 2000 SSD video in the interim while I continue work on the other video since it's been a very long time since I've uploaded.
A video without a goal and it's really just me messing around. Things are less dire than they seem.
The fans take over for this 420.
Using the old camcorder again lol. Also WWDC happened and it mainly reminded me of old Apple promos from the early 2000's for some reason and was somehow nostalgic.
This has to be the last time I use this camera...
The next step in the quest of Classic Mac nirvana. Is it achievable? This video is long but I hear you guys like that kinda thing. Not all the games are MECC games or even games, sorry.
Not Putin approved. There were a lot of potential games I could have tried to better test it, but the time it took to make this was already way too extreme and my ADHD had already taken over several times.
Released two years and two days after the first Haiku video. I'm now uploading 1hr+ videos without remorse.
Happy late Xmas, last video for the year!
Is calling this video first impressions more accurate than just "Installing RedStar OS"?
Made using 100% free or open source software. Sorry for the delay. This thing takes the time. Happy late 420
Almost a year of procrastination, dozens of video editor crashes, frustration, problems, making the same mistake over and over, struggling with audio issues, being generally disinterested, and an entire second editing pass is what brings this video to you today. As you can see by the onscreen dates, this was done over the course of the pandemic and you can probably tell that I'm less with it than normal. Also I wasn't really THAT excited about the project after navigator didn't work initially so I gave up on it several times.
Check out Digital Droo (and my stuff if you want!). All music in the video is from either Wingnuts 2 or from Digital Droo's Beginnings album. Special thanks to Kdenlive for existing. I edited this monstrosity with it and didn't have any random timeline crashes (only crashed when I was doing stupid settings stuff). This is unheard of in my experience and remarkable considering how ridiculously large this project was (Likely my biggest one yet). Sure, it chugged a whole lot and created a buttload of proxy files to do it, but It actually worked! Next time ill try something a little less ambitious.
