1969 wurde der Pink Panther, eine Figur aus dem Vorspann der Komödienreihe von Blake Edwards, erstmals Star einer eigenen Zeichentrickserie des amerikanischen Networks NBC. Seitdem wurde die Serie mehrfach fortgesetzt. Dieses Spin-off stammt aus dem Jahre 1993. Zu sehen sind die Abenteuer eines durchaus modernen Zeichentrickhelden, der anders als in älteren Serien eine eigene Stimme hat.

The 1993 incarnation of The Pink Panther starred the legendary hip feline in series of brand new adventures, in which he dealt with different situations in a manner similar to the original Looney Tunes shorts, ranging from modern day situations such as working as a delivery boy to outlandish situations like living in caveman days. Unlike previous television series and almost the entire theatrical run, the series was produced with the Panther capable of speaking throughout the episodes, to allow more interaction with other characters. Voiced by Matt Frewer, he was given a humorous American accent in order to appeal to younger children, which was in sharp contrast to the sophisticated British accent supplied by impressionist Rich Little who voiced the Panther briefly in two 1965 cartoon shorts, "Sink Pink" and "Pink Ice."

A Pantera Cor-de-Rosa (The Pink Panther Show, no original em inglês) é uma série animada criada pelos estúdios DePatie-Freleng Enterprises, exibida originalmente entre 1964 e 1980 nos Estados Unidos. A Pantera Cor-de-Rosa foi um personagem criado para fazer apenas uma introdução ao filme Pantera Cor-de-Rosa, de Blake Edwards, com Peter Sellers. O sucesso foi tão grande com crítica e público que, de personagem coadjuvante, passou a principal. Começou a ter uma série de curta-metragens lançados nos cinemas a partir de 1964 e em 1969, passou a ser exibidos na TV em 1969 no bloco de animação The Pink Panther Show.
