People, you might know that October 30 is the Remembrance Day for the Victims of Political Repressions in Russia, but usually not much happens on that day. Millions were killed, dozens of millions imprisoned for no good reason at all, but we don’t talk much about it somehow. And now look how people honor victims of political repressions in Argentina. Hundreds of thousands march the streets beating drums, carrying banners and larger-than-life inflatable dolls. The reason why they come out to take part in the march is loud and clear on this banner saying, there are “30 thousand reasons” to do so. That’s 30 thousand victims of the dictatorship that took place between 1976 and 1983. The state even compensates the day’s wages for everyone who participates and is doing everything it can to ensure people never forget that time and that nothing like this ever happens again.
