The Origin of Species

Außerirdische hatten vor langer Zeit ein Raumschiff zurückgelassen. Professor Dr. Nodel erhält eine geheimnisvolle Botschaft. Mit einer Gruppe Studenten fliegt er zu dem Heimatplaneten der Aliens. Die Studenten werden pärchenweise entführt. Nach 250 Jahren kommen sie wieder auf die Erde zurück. Die Erde ist menschenleer und verwüstet. Die Außerirdischen gaben ihnen die Chance zum Neubeginn.

In this sequel to Double Helix, Dr. Ira Nodel (RON RIFKIN) has his body altered to communicate with aliens who have seeded Earth with their genetic material. He is joined on an alien spaceship by son Paul (Ryan Reynolds), Paul's girlfriend Hope (Kathleen Duborg), and six students. But, when Dr. Nodel touches a glowing post in the ship's control room, both he and Paul are consumed by a mysterious light. This leads Hope and the students to believe that they've been lead into a trap, a suspicion that is reinforced when the ship captures two of the students and pulls them through the wall. Desperate to find out what's going on, Hope reads Dr. Nodel's journal and risks her life by touching the glowing post. Her body begins the same transformation, and a strange glowing entity speaks in the voices of Dr. Nodel and Paul, trying to communicate with her. The ship, however, continues to snatch the students two by two.

Dans cette suite (Le message Galactique - saison 3 épisode 12), le docteur Martin Nodel a la possibilité de communiquer avec les aliens grâce à son corps. Il est rejoint sur un vaisseau alien par son fils Paul, sa petite amie Hope et six étudiants. Mais lorsque Nodel touche un poste rayonnant dans la salle de contrôle du vaisseau, lui et son fils commencent à se désintégrer... Cela conduit Hope et les étudiants à penser qu'ils ont été conduit vers un piège...

Tras encontrar la nave y acceder a ella en "Doble hélice" (Temporada 3, Episodio 12), el equipo se dispone a viajar adonde la nave les lleve según lo establecido.
